Andy H should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
It appears there is still no sign of any re-fund forms from Silverstone for the ticket fiasco of the GP.

Perhaps it's no wonder they are dragging there feet?

Consider this if 60,000 tickets were sold for qualifying and only 20,000 turned up. That's 40,000 refunds at say an average of £75 a ticket. That's £3million of cash.

Add on say 10,000 more for Sunday at average £125/ticket, another £1.25million.

Invested at only 6% interest, it's over £20k a month in interest.

They can waffle all they want about how they must set-up systems to deal with the refund process but there's not much incentive to hurry is there?

I'm not awaiting a refund myself - I was merely commenting on the futher abuse of the customer by Silverstone.

I'm not condoning this, but if they didn't rip the counterfoil of your ticket of course you could claim a refund.

How could they tell you had been - make you take a lie detector test or perhaps they employed undercover detectives to tail people on raceday

Assuming the detectives could get in either.

Refunds become less difficult when you pay by credit card. You simply cancel the payout by calling the credit card people. I would never pay cash for anything that was likely to be cancelled.

Good to see that Silverstone sent all the punters a leaflet with questions and answers regarding the unfortunate events at the GP.

Park and Ride - won't work they say, how do they know have they tried it? Seemed to work for me on both raceday and qualifying!

Also I noted in the Q&A nothing about when they're handing back the money.

PS. Liz your credit card tactic won't work for many people as they pay many months in advance to get the early booking discount.

I expect the main prob with park and ride is the loss of profits for the farmers who rent out their fields for the weekend. Another prob may be the location for the car parks and bus stops. However, that one is manageable. Brackley, Bicester, Banbury, Northampton, have all got some space for this service.

Any people wishing to travel to Towcester or other locations could be diverted up the M40 ar M1.

Fair comments Peter.

I still think any level of park+ride scheme has to improve things but Silverstone still choose to ignore it. This year they ran 1 bus every half hour from Northampton - it doesn't really encourage you to use the service does it!
