Vietnamese car maker VinFast.

VinFast first showed off the VF33 back in January 2021, but patent images unearthed by Drive show a revised front end with new light signatures when compared with the images released by the company at the beginning of the year.

very old news.

Linfox already owns the former International Harvester/Toyota facility south of Anglesea so why buy another one ??

The purchaser of the Heathcote Drag Strip was interviewed on the latest edition of In Pit Lane (RMITV Ch31) and has some promising plans for that complex to restore it to its glory days.

At one time there was talk of using it for conservation purposes but I don't think the residents could scrape up the necessary.

It is already full of wildlife as they forgot to shoo out all the kangaroos when they put the perimeter fence up when they built the joint.

I worked at an event there many years ago and we were using their Proving Ground hacks as on site transport, the instruction was if a Kangaroo hopped out in front don't about damaging the car trying to avoid it, just hit it as it gives them real life roo hit data.

Back on the market

https://www.theaustralian.com.au/bus...1a9cc3222b52a4

A piece of Australia’s automotive history is back on the market as the offshore owner of Holden’s Lang Lang testing site, southeast of Melbourne, has placed the facility on the market.

It comes two months after Vietnamese electric-vehicle manufacturer VinFast announced it would not be launching in Australia after purchasing the proving ground from General Motors in late 2020 for $36.3m.

VinFast decided to cease Australian operations in May after less than a year of production, citing pressures from the pandemic. This means the 887ha facility is being sold with vacant possession. CBRE’s Dean Hunt and Stephen Adgemis are spearheading the expression of interest campaign, which closes November 18.

The 2020 site sale wasn’t the only racing track sold in Victoria. Melbourne dragracer Lance Warren snapped up the Heathcote Park Raceway in Knowsley near Bendigo, with plans of reopening to car-mad fans.

A perfect place for Tony Quinn to develop and enhance, and possibly a replacement venue for Sandown
