We are going to end up with a situation where they are all really close on points, Ingram slightly ahead, but starting in the lower reaches of the top ten for race three in reverse championship order and having to fight back to the front to win the title. We could even get a situation like 2016 where one driver has to make an overtake on track on his rival to win the title. It could not be set up much better than this. (Hopefully it will not now end up being anticlimatic).
Ash Sutton proved in that race why he is the best driver on the grid right now. It reminded me of Turkington's title-winning performance in 2009 with the damaged BMW. Incredible defensive driving, and for me more evidence that success ballast should return, albeit only for qualifying and race two. But I will still be supporting Ingram in the finale because Sutton has won it three times already! I was also surprised to hear that it was Turkington's tenth consecutive title decider. After all my raving about Plato doing it from 2006-16, Turkington has had just as long a period of brilliance in the BTCC. |

I fear the last Ginetta Junior race is in danger of getting booted given how far behind schedule they've fallen + how early it gets dark now it's mid-October.

Sutton going nowhere sadly. That's it when it comes to his allegedly divine luck.
Hill will get it I think. |

What a race! Gutted for Ash, whatever is going on with the car I don’t think the team can make a significant enough improvement for race 3 so he’d need Tom and Jake not to finish at all to win this now.
I think it might finally be Tom’s year. |

Sutton's fight is almost over I'm afraid. Pretty frustrating. Too many times this season the car looked like a racing brick.
Don't think there are big chances for any turnaround unless some *divine luck* comes into play. If not Ash, then I hope Tingram will get the championship! Regardless of the outcome, EXCELR8 have gone an incredible journey since running these old MGs around the back of the field. |

don't worry, Tingram and Hill take eachother out and Sutton will win it, if Tingram DNF, Sutton would need 15 points !!

What a drama for Thompson! Pity! Could've been a fantastic result.
Glad the title rivals survived the start of the race. For the championship's sake, I hope we'll bid farewell to some backmarkers next year but that's probably a wishful thinking... |

Tom Ingram would be a very worthy winner if that's how it plays out. Been there or there-abouts for years now, keeps himself out of trouble and his competitors rarely have a bad word to say about him. I was surprised when he made the decision to leave Speedworks (or had the decision made for him due to sponsor clashes?), but linking up with the then unproven Excelr8 has certainly paid dividends.

Ash Sutton takes second in the championship on the very last lap, for what it's worth.

A well-deserved championship title for Tingram, at last! A long time coming, but absolutely deserved.
Sutton's racecraft is a masterclass, no idea how he could defend so long with such an inferior car. Hope he'll come back stronger next year but I'm very happy for Tingram. |
