TSR has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Just slighty off topic does anyone know what roughly these B-Double transporters are worth. I am guessing around $850.000.

Depends where you go...

A 600bhp+ B-double spec cabover Prime Mover wont leave much change out of $400k (depending on options)

A brand new A-trailer like the one PWR has in this thread is something like $150k-$175k depending on the fit out (and hydraulic loader if required etc)

A brand new B-trailer like the one PWR has in this thread is something like $300k-$375k depending on the fit out

Put the number at $950k or so,...

It is rare for many teams to own their prime movers (due to contra), while quite a few seem to actually lease their trailers as well....

Just wait till 888 bring over one of their European transporters.. with the F1-style hydraulics that makes it into a 2 storey facility.. magic!

I know a few of the teams used to have there trucks supplied through a sponsorship agreement, you used to see a lot of truck brands on the cars, I think DJR still do this with Volvo and Perkins with Mack.

Wow, the trailers themselves are beautiful, and HUGE! However, it's funny to see these awesome trailes, however, the tractors are old as! Look at a NASCAR transporter, the fronmt looks as modern as the rear, however, these look really weird, the rear is all low and sleek, and the front is like , old and not.

The reason we use the Cab over style trucks is due to our road transport laws. When we are using B-Double's (twin trailers) we have to use the cab overs to keep the overall length with in our limits, if they where longer then they would be classed as a Road Train and not allowed past certain points into the cities.

Yeah, but on the other ones, the fronts are of old kenworths.

Like t hat.

While the trails would look better with fronts like this.

That white Volvo looks good, but you could not use it here to pull B-Doubles (Twin trailers) as the wheel base is waaaay to long.

I think the ones you are talking about are the ones like the Smiths Trucks one, these are smaller/privateer teams and can't afford the 'good gear' or get them supplies by a sponsor, some of them are also from other series of racing with even smaller budgets, I think it is amazing they even have such a rig. But I do know what you mean, the sleeker look is a lot better.

fully loaded, you are looking at well over $2,000,000 on the way to the track for one of the B-Doubles......

Oh, and incase you haven't heard, apparently the image/sticker of the car on the side of the 888 trailer is 'glow in the dark'. Now thats would be a cool sight seeing that roaring along a dark highway at night!

Would everyone be keen on starting this thread again this year? Or should we just keep it going on this one?

Should we ask for a new forum just for the pictures of cars, trucks and gridgirls?

It seems to be more reflective than glow in the dark, but BOY does it reflect!!

If anyone has driven past their workshop at night, or even early evening it really looks the part, it dosent even need to be moving!

As for the length issue, it is a little bit of a shame that the current regs are as they are, however its getting close to changing to (IIRC) 26M total length in order to allow more room between the front of the truck (tractor Matt) and the front of the trailer.

If the cars are $300K, spares enough to make up mostly one other, plus engines and gearboxes and other hard part spares and computer/pit equipment, that $2Mil would be gobbled up real quick!

Wayne Carey is a fine upstanding citizen, and the dozens of women who claim to have been partners of his in the family way are obviously attracted to the celebrity, and attempting to attain notoriety from taking pleasure in other people's falls from grace.

Shame on grid girls chasing one of our most upstanding sportsmen.

The designs on the trailers are generally pretty shoddy in my opinion though aren't they, the bigger the team, budget and pressure naturally the more it is not at all a priority it seems?

The PWR one looks rather ordinary, the indistinctive 888 one that doesn't really look like a race team, the plain white SBR one and the no effort one from "team image" HRT and also not much effort from FPR etc.

Whereas the DJR ones Westpoint and before the Shell paintwork with nice designs is more how they should be done I reckon, and even better the GRM one rocks, the ones with digital graphics are really nice, I reckon?
