Oulton Park Thanks

I'd like to say a big thankyou to all the Marshals at Oulton Park on August 12th. Given that the BTCC and Grand Prix Masters meeting were also running, to see so many of you there, allowing us to run on the full circuit was just fantastic.
Sadly, our car struggled with a broken exhaust and fuel surge over the final few laps, (I really thought it was game over at Knickerbrook on the last lap) but the enthusiastic reception I got on the slow-down lap served to keep the smile on my face.

To everyone who was there - thankyou!

Actually, I should add that the flaggies on the run into Shell were superb when the Saxo blew up. It was so obvious that something was badly wrong, but I didn't see the oil until late. Luckily, I'd backed off as the flag waving was mega-urgent.

Thanks Stuart,

As a marshal @ Knickerbrook on Saturday, you werent the only one, it seemed that as least one person in each practice session thought they were going straight on rather than round the chicane, to the marshals amusement, i might add, we were betting towards the end

And the oil in the first jaguar session caused a bit of early morning thinking!!!

Thanx for some good racing and another very quiet day at Lodge although Dr Bob was kept busy doctoring the Rescue Unit personnel, for suspected hernias, after they pushed a Jaguar out of the way..............

i wonder what became of XJS car 32...

i dread to think how much petrol poured out his filler cap per lap - what was it? 3 passes of the black/orange flag and 2 laps under black flag? twas a veritable fountain of petrol coming out round Old Hall.

he ended up as one of our many incidents at shell, he span coming through island and ended up half way between the two posts in the tyre wall.

Thankfully it was a fairly quiet day at old hall...

can think of only 2 incidents we had - Focus loosing its nearside rear during qualifying - did cause a red flag, as although it was able to be moved - we couldnt get it to a place of safety very easily, as it was backed into the very end of the tyre wall.

second was the sylvia phenoix that got punted off to the inside of OH on the opening lap of the race

we were the other side of the track, resuce unit stops, driver gets out, rescue carries on, the pit lane starter is about to exit, so we move to end of barrior incase we need to cross - guys are coming up from avenue too.. in the mean time, driver collapses and 2 of the GP jump over the fence and run to driver. another red flag
