James Sofronas confirming to S365 hes ordered 6 Porsche GT2 cars already, and is expecting to order a minimum of 2 Audi GT2s.

Pretty decent numbers from one team alone... At least 2 of those Porsches are planned to be SRO entries in 2020.

Wow! I did not expect to see a single team with so many cars. Would some of those be spares I wonder? Or are all of them even planning on being raced? Could some be track day cars?

It sounds like he has some on order for clients. I would say a few to race and a few are rich guy toys. But if 50% of them race that's still a decent start.

Audi tell me that 80% of the interest that they have for the GT2 is for cars to be used privately and not for racing

Sadly that's what I was addressing of with these. They just had that appearance of the high end club cars like Ferrari's FXX type car although not as high end or exclusive

Curious why, and it doesn’t say it’s no forever just no for now.

Seems the GT2 category hasn’t swelled in manufacturers in a hurry, still think it makes sense as a class if it can get established though

Name still doesn’t make sense
