I wonder if the Bathurst Council's wish for a fifth event at Mount Panorama could lead to some kind of TCR World Cup race?

It's possible.
How would they format it? All-in enduro? All-in sprints? They're already having a TCR-only 500-lapper at Spa later this year. |

Any marquee event for TCR at Bathurst, especially an enduro, will be perceived by some (probably influential types) as 'competition' to Supercars.
The worst thing TCR can do, if it wants to build a following, is jump straight into a major standalone Bathurst event. |

Unless they took over the Easter event which would look more like a progression from whats already running.

Given how many cars there are here and the solid promotion behind the coming series I wonder why they didn't look for an invitation to the B12hr or even the 6hr to generate some buzz.

Well the Creventic series wants in.
They're on good terms with the TCR set. |

Perhaps one of the 3 Morcom-owned cars?

Btw I didn't see any overseas bidders on the tender announcement but ARG is kinda surprising.

ARG not as surprising, a Shannons Nationals round there with a longer TCR race could be interesting. |

It seems they've been giving Creventic the run around.

Not understanding the criticism of this series before it has even started.
They wont be as fast as Supercars They wont be as loud as them either But they could turn out really exciting racing and the drivers announced so far are really good. Anyway - 2nd HMO seat...Ojeda? Rullo? |

They're all noise limited.
TCR will be as loud, but a much different sound. |

They sound pretty bad, but that's just the nature of turbocharged low-revving four-cylinders. At least the Super Tourers had the induction roar, more revs and the odd inline five and even V6 -- but times change.
Who's Ojeda? HMO should secure Jordan Cox if at all possible IMO. Bit of a FWD ace! Last edited by V8 Fireworks; 27 Apr 2019 at 10:23. |
