Bob, must complement you on the #972 selection. Great content and super photos. Fabbo stuff. Love them all.
Is the Maserati an A6CGS? Not up there with the 300S Maserati for stunning beauty but still quite tasty.

I am pleased you like the pics, EB, and yes it is the A6GS, a very effective 2.0 litre of the 50's. Roy Salvadori used to race Sid Greene's car in the UK, painted dark green. Made a nice change from the usual British makes of the day.

Mike, I have put together a special selection for your interest, a reward for being a great supporter of this thread.

No doubt you can identify them all.

Errr, maybe so, but can’t tell you what type the Ferrari RAB500 is. The body of that Merc W125 is just so clean and unadorned- what a beauty. That pic must have been taken at See Red back in 2007, Bob! And a brace on Lancias.....

A great shame the Vulcan is no longer able to be displayed, but at least I’m lucky enough to have seen them ‘in period’ as well as in recent times. Remember a particular air show where all 3 ‘V’ bombers were together- Valiant, Victor and Vulcan. Awsum!

The FJ Stanguellini has to be about the prettiest Junior ever, almost matched by the Volpini (also Italian, unsurprisingly!)- Probably why the values of them are so high now......

Funnily enough I watched a youtube clip of the final flight of XH558 (and IIRC the last Vulcan flight. I remember the commentator saying "Dont cry because its over, smile because it happened." A beautiful plane, surely one of the best looking ever.

The 500 Mondial must be one of the automotive equivalents.
One thing I can say is that HRT has shown me to appreciate the Formula Junior cars. I always ignored them in the past, but not now.

Thanks again bauble for airing your talents so to speak. This thread is making the off season quite enjoyable.

I also remember them flying in period .

But about 12 years ago I was right near Waddington when I heard this tremendous sound & there was the Vulcan .
Did not know about it before then , but it had just been rebuilt , got its airworthiness certificate & was getting ready for its first air show .

It was just awesome to see , and hear , in the air .
