Should it be compulsory for all two-car V8 teams to field a Fujitsu entry?

Pretty much a straight forward question. Especially now that everyone has to stay in there own cars for the endurance rounds.

Can't see why this would even come up. Why would you?

And why would you destroy the existing Fujitsu series by doing so?

I believe its a great idea. It will show how good the current DVS teams are. One new rule:
Main - FG/VE
DVS - BF or BA/VZ

My Favourite 08 moment was when Courtney/Besnard comeback drive at Bathurst. Courtney raced through to dominate the opening stint had 15 sec. gap to Lowndes who was in 2nd. In the 2nd stint a slowly deflating tyre (originally diagnosed as a damaged anti-roll bar) slowed Besnard's stint in Courtney's car allowing Whincup to assert dominance over the field rest of the race. On lap 160 S.Richards, fading badly on rear tyres was unable to stop Courtney move into 3rd place.

Any rule like this would just drive the costs of the series up

It would also result in any of the following;

A) Any Main Series team taking the DVS seriously would blow the Fujitsu stalwarts away
B) Main Series teams just entering test hacks, running in & testing parts for the main series machines, using it as a test session
C) Main Series team just selling the seats to the highest bidders just to fulfill any rule
D) Main Series teams 'acquiring' or re-branding existing DVS outfits just to satisfy the rules, leading to no difference.

The entry rules are fine as it is in my opinion. Main Series teams can enter if they wish, and the ones that do take it seriously.

To be very honest, no. I know where you are comming from Chatters but racer69 has hit the nail on the head. If they give a helping hand to a Fujitsu Series team without an advantage to the main series team though, go for it.

Its not always easy for some teams to enter a car. Main reason is budget, staff.

Some teams are only just getting through the years. So its hardly fare for them

And when the current FVS teams are all now suddenly competing for 15th instead of for wins, and the sponsors and pay drivers desert them and send them bankrupt do you think they will say proudly oh yes, it seems we weren't good enough after all?

And if the FVS teams all go bankrupt because the main teams take away their reason for existing, who are the main teams going to sell their cars too? So they take a big financial hit as well.

Its a multiple times over flawed idea.

Especially as that has always appeared to be the main reason the Development Series was really created, as somewhere to sell the old cars, not as a driver development place.

It was just an idea, I never said it had any merit...

I don't even think they should be allowed to field a car in this series, much less be forced to field one.

I agree - keep this series for the small teams. Allow them to link up with main game players if they wish for technical assistance, but not ownership.

Your correct, i was just pointing out that its handballed down the line. Eventually someone will have a car and no series to race in.....

Have Bowdens bought ANY V8 Supercars? They got some with the DJR deal but its not the reason the deal was done?
