Kelly Racing caught spying on 888

I don't really believe Todds excuse that they were young workshop based apprentices who didn't know the protocols

Where were the nappies that usually go under the 888 and HRT cars when travelling?

If the TK boys were clever they would have taken a peek at the #39 PMM car... much less focus on that vehicle...

You tell me that you wouldn't be trigger happy with a camera after being let out of a factory and taken half way around the world?? I remember when I worked at a major event once of the Gold Coast and had pit lane access. Gee'z did I roll off a couple rolls of film that weekend. Got told off thou for getting some photo's of Honda CART engine.

Poor form from his guys in doing that in the first place, but like GTR said where are the covers under the car that they normally put on when they transport these things?? Also, what's to stop the regular punter in the paddock taking some photo's when the cars are coming out of the trucks or being loaded in.

Storm in a teacup innit?

Yes, it probably wasn't in accordance with protocol but...

Who remembers the incident of Lowndes' rollover at Calder where his car had flipped and Larry had a closer look at the HRT undercarriage?

And wasn't there an official policy to expose the V8SC engines in the pits for all to see? Not everything is sacred.

Another opportunity for Mr Dane to get his name and the word VODAPHONE into the media. Did I forget to mention VODAPHONE?

Sure you aren't thinking of the DJR rollover at Phillip Island that Johnson objected to the underside of the car being shown?

Great. Just another gate media fix. What should we call it? Kellygate? Chassisgate?

Apprenticegate?

Sounds like they were just taking some happy snaps, cue sensationalist quotes from TK and boom! A story.

Never heard of them, are they a new sponsor? Oh, you mean Vodafone..... obviously their marketing works wonders, even if the public can't spell the product name......

Perhaps the boys are both big Craig Lowndes fans.

But it wouldn't be a V8 Supercar event if T888 and Roland didn't have something to whinge about would it?. Maybe he's worried they'll expose something that is supposed to stay hidden!!

Good that Todd apologised. Hope he keeps the pictures though.

Nope. I remember the incident well. In 1999, off the start line, Lowndes' VT was touched by (I think) Murphy's car and Lowndes' car flipped and finished upside down against the wall.

Yes I know the incident happened - but what was described as happening after is what I was questioning. I don't recall much being said about anyone 'looking' at the bottom of the car. However, when the DJR car at the Island (Bowe's wasn't it???) ended up on its side, there were numerous media reports afterwards about various configuraitons they had on the Falcon.

Actually it was Skaifey who joked about it on V8Superstars during the following weekend. He alerted the TV audience of Larry's motive when the footage was shown...

Larry stopped his car and everybody thought he was going to render assistance when he arrived at the scene... but the cameras showed Larry was more concerned about the underside of the VT racer.

Roland doesn't want anyone to see the Ford engine.

Are nappies still banned or did this rule disappear?

I wouldn't have though Larry would have to resort to this - I thought he wore highly polished army shoes so whenever he walked by a car all he had to do was look down and check the reflection on the toes of his shoes!

I think by the time Larry arrived at the scene there was a plethora of other drivers rendering assistance, so why not have a look!

I remember the photos in Auto Action after the Bowe crash, the diff mounted alternator and some other stuff were fuzzed out.
