bobdrummond should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I accidentally switched on Eurosport when "Inside CART" was on and was in no way impressed. Straight away the female presenter Michelle Garforth annoyed the hell out of me. It soon became obvious that she hasn't the slightest interest in the sport and the guy (who's name I didn't catch) wasn't a whole lot better. Furthermore, the technical 'expert' Bill Adam was discussing steel vs. Carbon brakes and even I caught a couple of mistakes he made.
On the plus side, it was nice to see the Dayton lights guys get some attention and that the general focus wasn't concentrating on the top guys.
CART could get better value for money, methinks.

Yeah, nobody in the States is that impressed either. They should have Parker Johnsotne and Jan Beekius host, with Gary Gerould doing the reporting/stories.

But at least CART is getting some extra exposure

Mhhh....Jon Beekhuis could be a good adition. I think he's one of the best commentators I've seen. He's objective, impartial and knows a lot about the subject. I never miss RPM2Night on tuesdays because of that.

Well....but the show ain't that bad. It could be better but, well...it's just starting. And like Heeltoe says...at least it's some extra exposure.

I think one of the reasons I was so disappointed was that I appreciate how desperately CART needs the exposure and was expecting better presenting rather than a bunch of unknowns. I agree that Jan Beekhuis and Parker johnstone are very good primarily because they are former racers and have a talent for broadcasting.
Not sure about Gary Gerould, since he deflated the Homestead podium celebrations by asking Max about Greg, though. He's a good pit reporter during the races.

Go Roberto!!!

Gary Gerold was the one who kept the camera on Helio as he dissolved in tears in Portland, long after it became obvious that the boy could not talk. IMO he is part of the problem, not part of the solution. I find him insensitive.

Likely the problem this show has is the usual CART problem: they are giving the job to pepole who don't like motor racing and don't know the audience they ought to be trying to reach: that is, they are pitching this show to people who are not racing enthusiasts, but to people Instead of appealing to the motor racing enthusiast, who would watch it if it were technically correct and covered those things we enthusiasts wanted to hear about, they are trying to appeal to people who DON'T watch motor racing, hoping to entice them to buy products.

Let me, again, come to Gary Gerrold's defense.

First, (IMHO) the Max Papis "deflation" is silly. He needed to be asked.

Second, the reporter never keeps the camera anywhere. That's a call the director makes.

Insensitive? I find him quite the contrary.
