GT4 Nordschleife Time Attack
Here are the times:-
http://www.nordschleife.no/ Also tells you the cars spec and tyres used. Use N2 tyres for standard road cars and R1 tyres for race cars. These will give you the most accurate times for road and race cars. Grab a copy of GT4 and see what times you can achieve. |

Ran 2 laps in my Audi R8 with a best time of 6:05.695. Left some time out there, but I'm not unhappy with it. Most of my time around this track is in tin-tops. Quite a speed difference when you jump into a prototype.
R1s ASM set to 0 TCS set to 1 oil change, no mods |

i could have done a sub 6 minute lap in the jaguar, but, i had a "minor" off on the back off of the track. plus the final ratio was too long, if there were other cars on the track where the draft would have taken effect it would have been fine. heh.

SWOLN: what kind of tires, any mods on the car, etc? If you did that on R1 (super hard) tires with a stock R92CP then I am truly impressed.
Can't believe we don't have any more takers on this. Speaking of takers, JAG are you gonna post a time? Hey Es Nes, what do you do for the bumps on this track in terms of set up? Edit: Just was looking, Bellof's time of 6:11 was set on a 20.832km track while other times are set on a 22.835km track. I also saw a 25.947km version on the list. What's the difference and how long is the GT4 version? |

Mitsubishi EVO 8 MR GSR N2s 8.14.004
Honda NSX-R N2s 8.16.317 Nissan Skyline GTR-V-Spec II NUR N2s 8.19.504 RUF RGT N2s 8.03.290 Toyota Supra GT500 R1s 6.52.xxx Audi A4 DTM R1s 6.48.xxx Audi R8 R1s 6.08.xxx Most of my time is in road cars and touring/GTs, so a prototype is quite a jump up and a very different driving technique. Practice makes perfect. I was going around in 8.23s in the Evo 8 MR GSR, but worked that down to 8.14s in an evening. I'll be happy to go under 10 minutes when I take my Evo 8 MR to the Nurburgring later this year! |

I know what you mean about switching to the prototype. It's quite different.

for those of you have trouble adjusting to prototypes, ive three words for you:
bentley speed 8 eff'ing awesome machine. im needing to remind myself im on bricks and not r3s, it feels that good. the powerband is basically everywhere, even up to the rev limiter if you so feel the need. bentley speed 8 '03 - 5.51.380 oil change, roll cage (stiffening) r1s. i think ill grab my black r92cp and see what i can do with that. |

Nice time Es Nes! I knew a sub-6 was possible on R1s (although not sure I can do it personally). But do you really find the Bentley easier to drive over the Audi R8? I find the ballance on the R8 to be better. Although I just recently unlocked the Bentley, so my time in it is limited.
I plan to make a Mazda 787B run tonight and maybe give one of the DTM cars a go. |

black r92cp - 5.52.152. this thing makes all of its time up with that fire breathing 951hp engine. ive very little confidence in the front end of the car, but, i didnt tweak it other than the usual gearbox trick. oil change and stiffening are only mods.
compairing the r8 to the bentley? tbh, i dont have much expernce in the r8, but, ive found the open top cars to intially have too much understeer for my tastes. the bmw v12 lmr and 03 pescarolo sports are like that. the bentley strong point is the brakes, turn in, and power devliery. ive found it tends to push wide at exit. nothing unbareable though. ill give an r8 a run in a bit. |

Ok, I made a few attempts tonight...
Mercedes Benz CLK Touring Car - 6:39.110 on R1s with no mods. Mazda 787B (blacky) - Didn't come close to a sub 6 with a time of 6:09.710. R1 tires, ASM to zero, TCS at 5. Ran 21 on the auto select if I recall, raised the ride height and softend it a bit. Not too bad. Both laps were far from perfect. But I was surprised with the Mazda time. It seemed pretty smooth apart from a minor off or two. Maybe too conservative. As for the R8 and Bentley, I find the breaking ability of the open top cars to be a bit superior to the closed top cars. I don't know how realistic the game is, but the Bentley and Toyota GT-One should have narrower tires in comparison to the closed top LMPs like the Audi R8. Although the Bentley performs better than the Yota. |

actually, in 03 the closed top cars were given the same wider tyres the open top cars had as well as going to the slightly smaller restictors the open top cars had as well.
ill try the mazda tonight as im doing yet another ring run and satos 16 hours and 52 minutes into it. do you know how to use the gear box trick? |

Gear box trick? Eh, probably not. Surely after watching my results in the WSPC at GTX you know my car setup skills are seriously lacking.
Are you sure about the tire thing on the Bentley? I was pretty sure it ran narrower tires in 2003. Not positive, but reasonably sure. I'll check my Le Mans annual. Let me tell you one thing though. I played around with the Mazda a little. I can run softer tires in front and harder on the rears and still have good balance (re-did Laguna). I cannot for the life of me get the Jag to perform that feat without the back end wanting to step out. |

the trick is to set the final drive to 5.000 and then slide the auto all the way to right and then all the way to the left. then adjust the final to suit the longst straight on the track.
if youd like, i can look into getting a decent jag set up for you? |

Hmm, the gear box trick sounds interesting. I'll have to check that out.
As for the Jag set up, I certainly don't expect you to spend extra time on that. Not to mention extra time for a competitor. I'll muttle through it. But thank you for the offer. |

Well that's putting it bluntly!
But that's ok. I know I can't win a race. But I'd like to get a podium. The two non-points races really bummed me out. Not Infineon really, never had the time, but I should have scored points in Seoul. Oh well, that's racing! |

here, try this: lsd 20/35/30. that seemed to get rid of most of it, but, youll probably need to adjust the spring rates and maybe add a little camber because i was having troubles keeping it online while on the power. my brake settings were 6/4 as well with r3/r2 tyres.
that extra 100kg seems a bit much. |
