Combe Cans Carnival?

According to the latest listings on the Castle Combe Website, the FFord Carnival is no more, the date being taken by a National Bike meeting in August - reducing the number of car meetings to 7 at the circuit this year.

Perhaps its not a surprise as the Carnival always struggled to attract competitors for whom Combe wasn't their home circuit, but its a shame to see the ammount of car racing at Combe reduced - it'll be particularly strange that the last car meeting of the season will be August bank holiday.

Does anyone know more?

Marshal,

I have the listings for this years championships and on the form I have received there is now a seperate 'King of Kents Event' on the 2nd Oct the event is classed as a carnival and consists of heats & final.

I hope this answers your question

I hope you're right, as our availability forms for marshalling had the carnival on the 2nd October, but as we all know, Combe has a limited number of days running, and the calendar published on the website fills these without provision for the carnival

As far as I'm aware the Carnival is still on and is listed as such on the BRSCC site.

The Combe FF1600 series is running on the 27/3, 12/4, 3&31/5, 20/6, 7/8 and 30/8. The 12/4 and 30/8 meetings will run as double headers giving the series 9 rounds and allowing the October event to be the Carnival.

But as we know, these things have a habit of changing.

Just to put your minds at ease, the "carnival" is still on on 2nd of Oct and is confirmed in the Combe fixture guide which I received from the circuit a couple of days ago.
