According to the standings, there are at least 8 cars that could realistically win the title, even if fuji should be favourable to toyotas.
How can supra and nsx be so different? since low drag design and engine aside, they are virtually the same identical car. |

Autosport web is reporting factors for ARTA's victory.
https://www.as-web.jp/supergt/644170?all *Honda squad shared set-up data by all Honda teams. *Nojiri says that ARTA referred to the Team Real's set-up data. *According to Nojiri, ARTA's initial setup had a grip balance closer to the front. *If the grip balance is closer to the front, it is less likely to cause understeering. In qualifying, warming the rear tires will give you a one-shot time. However, in long runs, the rear tires, which have a small load, wear heavily, and the balance is more closer to the front. In addition, the out lap is disadvantageous because the rear tires warm up slowly. *Nojiri prefers a grip balance closer to the rear. *So the team changed the setup to a balance closer to the rear, and this worked well. *Structurally, Class 1 + alpha regulations vehicles have low roll rigidity, aerodynamic changes are likely to occur, and grip balance is likely to change. So the team tried a set-up to suppress it and it worked well. *That set-up was in the direction Team Real was doing. |

Hoppy Team Tsuchiya Motegi round race report
https://www.as-web.jp/supergt/645557 *Ryunosuke Kino (data engineer) says that The machine was only slightly adjusted from Suzuka's set-up. GT3 has a limited range of set-ups, and he feel like they've already done what they can. *Even in the practice session, tire evaluation was the center of work and there was almost no change from the initial set-up. *Motegi, which does not have fast and long corners, is a suitable circuit for Porsche. *Matsui passed in 4th place in Q1 and Sato passed in 4th place in Q2. *Kino says that the qualifying results are not bad because the tires are looking ahead to the final race. *The start driver is Kimiya Sato. However, the track temperature was too warm for the tires the team chose. *Porsche had a fuel tank at the front and loaded about 90 kg of fuel, so the team suffered from a lack of front grip. *Around the 9th lap, the fuel was running low and it became cooler, so the condition of the tires became stable. *Due to the harsh tire conditions, the two-tire change strategy is not in mind, and the choice is to make the second stint the same tire as the first stint or a harder one. *The team set out to choose the same tires as the first stint. *With the SC coming out, the team made a pit stop during the SC with only four-wheel tire changes, as in the 3rd round. *Sato warmed the tires during the SC and changed drivers and refueled after the SC. *Matsui moved up to 5th place, but when the fuel became lighter, the symptoms of pick-up began to appear. *Tire debris can be removed by sliding the rear with traction, but tire debris cannot be removed from the front. *While doing so, Matsui was overtaken by #11. *Tsuchiya wirelessly instructed Matsui to be overtaken by the fast-paced #360 and compete with #55. *He decided it was useless to overuse the tires by competing with #360, which has a different straight line speed. *Matsui finished in 7th place and finished 6th in the penalty of the superior car. *Tsuchiya says that if the two drivers were able to compete in the 4th (Motegi) round, the team would have been on the podium. *In the first stint, the tire was out of temperature range. *But in the second stint, the team didn't change to hard tires. Tsuchiya bet on the side where SC did not come out. *As a result, SC came out, but the position did not drop that much. That was lucky. |

Being an entertainer, he is in a position to be severely criticized for sexual issues.
Initially, he was only going to stop entertainment activity, but due to heavy public criticism, he also stopped racing activity (as team director). |

I'm also concerned with his racing team (Kondo Racing) as well, quite afraid the team will be potentially losing some sponsorships.

Their GT500 arm hasn't been very good at all this season. Wonder if this means we will be down to 3 Nissans come next year?

You think you've heard everything, then something like that happens. Guess there is still room for a bit of maverick behaviour these days

Autosport web is reporting Gerhard Berger interview.
https://www.as-web.jp/supergt/646939?all In this interview, Berger revealed that Japanese manufacturers had planned to participate in DTM and German manufacturers had planned to participate in SGT. BMW and Audi were in favor of the plan, but the plan was not realized because two Japanese manufacturers opposed it. |

Knowing all the nonsense that Herr had talked previously I wouldn't be surprised if it's not all the true. How would GT500 allow cars that had to be BoPped anyway, as Super Exclusive Premium German brands are better in marketing than in engineering nowadays. With no jet-ignition, frozen engine and aero development and spec tyres - how they could be entered in GT500? It would equal GT500 collapse as constructors' class.

I think that there were no japanese teams that would had liked to run in dtm. During last year dtmxsgt race at hockenheim buttom complained a lot about hankook tyres... he said that japanese engineers were upset because each japanese car setup is mainly based on BS/MH/DL/YH tyres features like opt. temp, wear rate etc.. while hankooks are just chunk of extra hard tyres with overall poor grip but basically no wear rate compared to their condifential compounds.

Autosport web is reporting Toshihiro Ichinose (#18 chief engineer) interview on NSX GT3 Evo set-up know-how.
https://www.as-web.jp/supergt/647160?all *Ichinose (SERVUS Japan, #18 chief engineer) says that he doesn't know NSX GT3 original spec. *He was ARTA #55 engineer, and now UpGarage #18 chief engineer. *Ichinose has the impression that the NSX GT3 Evo is a cornering machine with straight line speed. *He says that NSX GT3 Evo has more downforce than BMW M6 GT3, especially in rear. However, everyone worried about lack of front downforce of NSX GT3 Evo. *In 2019, Ichinose and ARTA #55 won the championship by NSX GT3 Evo. That year, he set up with two things in mind: improving the ground contact of the four wheels to improve tire grip and making the aerodynamics as effective as possible. It was a setup that sets the front vehicle height to the minimum ground clearance, adds a rake angle to the rear, and increases the front downforce as much as possible. And it's a suspension setup that allows you to move the downforce balance closer to the front. *Unlike open-wheel cars, GT3 vehicles that cannot increase the amount of DF with the front wing and flaps have to rely on the rake angle. *The NSX GT3 Evo is sensitive to rake angles and the amount of downforce changed even at 1mm. *Due to the rake angle, the amount of downforce not only on the front but also on the entire vehicle has increased. *However, if there is a rake angle, the front will sink due to braking, and the brake balance will be lost. *The NSX GT3 Evo regularly uses suspension packers and bump rubber because it wants to suppress changes in the front vehicle height aerodynamically, as in the theory of GT machines. *Ichinose found a good suspension set-up at #55 engineer era. That's because he knew all about the character of BS tires. *In 2020, Ichinose transfers to Team UpGarage, and tire brand switched to Yokohama. *Ichinose says he didn't have an image of how to use Yokohama tires in the Okayama test. *Starting with how to load the tires, it has now evolved into a more grip-oriented set-up. *Until last year he was always aware of loading the four wheels, but this year he changed to a set-up that loads the outer side tires. That's because the tires of the character increase the grip when Yokohama puts a high load on it. In short, he came up with a completely different set-up than last year. *Yokohama tires will be different from last year, and they are finding a direction to handle long runs while improving the qualifying time while using a soft compound. *Yokohama has also improved the structure of its tires, and even with the same compound, it is becoming more grip. *The NSX GT3 Evo is equipped with a new Bosch ABS, but the team hasn't mastered it well yet. *The front does not move, the vehicle height is low and there is no static load. It is natural that full braking will be severe. *Therefore, the set-up is to increase the bottom speed without using much brakes. *Of course, there are complaints from the driver, but the aerodynamics are effective, so the driver has to put up with it. |

In regards to Masahiko Kondo's situation, I'm hoping that it'll be resolved smoothly. It's hard to be a male idol and a team owner, especially when Kondo-san is part of Johnny and Associates, one of the largest talent agencies in Japan.

He needs to pick himself up if he is to get anywhere, he’s dug his own hole it seems. Let’s just hope that this gets resolved quickly, but hey, we have always tended to get these lively characters in motorsport every now and then. But at the same time, he has to get his life back on track if he is to continue doing his job as best he can and continue to be one to go to
