SPA CLASSIC Peter Auto

The first historic meeting of the year at Spa, and it's big. All Peter Auto grids, including the first race for the Global Endurance Legends cars.

I was wondering if anyone could be able to say why for the Spa Classic spectators are not allowed in on Friday.

I find this quite bizarre and dissapointing as I was planning to go all three days.If anyone could shed some light on the matter or a solution if its the case it would be much appreciated.

According the the Spa Summer Classic website there is free admission for spectators on all three days...

Isn't Will taking about Spa Classic by Peter Auto, here?
https://peterauto.peter.fr/wp-conten...-timetable.pdf
If yes, it surely is a matter of insurance and people at the gates. This could increase the costs. Just my bet.
If you're looking for a solution, join a team, any team even a catering one or go the day before and hyde yourself…

Yes it is the Peter Auto event.

That was what my dad was saying.Annoyingly I don't really know anyone who goes to the Classic.

It's a shame as Friday is the best day really on my opinion and it was the main event for me this year.

Edit-Having looked at the event website it says the event is open all 3 days but my dad so its not. That tickets are only on the gate on Friday.Have to do some digging.

Tickets? Why that? People there are nature oriented, just rent fancy dresses and pretend you're Chip and Dale the well known squirrels seen in Rescue Rangers. Bear in mind that one has a brown nose the other being black. Last recommendation stay away from raccoons rutting, they are legions at this time of the year! L'appel de la nature…

Just a bit of extra info regarding PA events- The entrant only gets 4 passes for an event and has to buy any extra required, so not much chance of a team having spare. Not sure if the spectator access and ‘gate money’ is a circuit thing, or PA. The Spa website link takes you to PA if you try to buy a ticket, but direct to ticketmaster for parking and camping..... Anyway, there will be insurance savings for the organiser if spectators not there, and it’s the same for teams getting in. Last year we were not allowed in on Wednesday as security and insurance weren’t booked and paid for until Thursday!

Will, PA website links to adv ticket purchase, including a 3 day pass, so must be ok to spectate all 3 days.
Don't forget they rip you off eur 7 a day for parking each day !

We will be there with a yellow Alfa GTAm no. 58, in the HTC race, most probably based in the enduro garages, but not sure which one at the moment.

Call by to say hi.

While you're there drive or better ride the old circuit which was an open road. And learn what was Burnenville, Malmedy chicane, Masta and the real Stavelot. Before that try and find some pictures of what was the Raidillon in French or the Eau Rouge in… English!
MartinH has entered in the star of the event category, HTC series, hence it is scheduled on Sunday at 3PM. Dont worry if you see some scars on the cars, the first round is planed on Sat' at 10 PM… La nuit Ã* Spa, tous les coups sont permis!

That’s the timetable, Gerard- which I was just about to post a link to! Thanks for saving me the trouble......

Provisional entry lists have been sent out to competitors, but don’t seem to be on the website yet. Grids are good! Circuit max of 75 already entered for 60s Endurance, plus 9 reserves..... As usual at this meeting we get the short(ish) straw, and are on track Friday, Saturday and Sunday eves...... Does tend to interfere with the socialising!

Mike, know what you mean about the socialising !

Also, my missus & l normally do a car boot sale close to our home & this year it clashes with this PA event. l'm still considering doing prep work late on Friday eve, then returning home to help her on Saturday, before returning to Spa for our night race on Saturday eve !
Luckily, she doesn't look at this site, so l can leave my options open for the moment but it would win me lots of brownie points to be 'cashed in' later on in the year !

Hope to meet up with you during the event.

Sorry for the link, Mike…
Martin I know your french language is very good so why not "joindre l'utile Ã* l'agréable" at Spa? Just have to put old slicks in your GATM boot, they can make acceptable tables, add some guillotine injection bits and why not an Autodelta rear suspension? And a double ignition distributor head! I think I won't be there but I could add some Capri pistons, one crankshaft and a severely damaged head too! Signed by Ric Wood and… me!
Sorry for the Ric thing, Mike!

Young Will if you spot an old shiny wreck based on a poor and so simple TR4 lined up in the Sixties grid, this time dont say a word: its a rare and wonderful Morgan SLR… Very well put together, maintained on a very professional standard and very well driven too!

Hope you'll understand that you're living in a country blessed by mechanical gods and that the UK produced the great majority of the wonders you enjoy to watch. If you want to imagine what it takes, sometimes, to refurbish a classic, mind you the dealers are closed and the part lists have gone for a long while straight to the bin.
I'm currently trying to help a bloke racing a Commodore B GS Coupé. Some steering parts are pain in the neck to find not mentioning a single headlamp or rear light complete unit. And its not always just a matter of money…

The question for Kevin was: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AwnVZAGhArY So, red or yellow?

Apologies, I haven’t received the entry lists in a format that can use to post link. CER1 includes the yellow Monteverde 512M but no 917. In CER2 there are 3 of the amazing Ferrari 512BB LMs on the list, and the 1977 Le Mans Aston Martin DBSV8. If it shows, that car is cool....

Gerard! Only bit of the Morgan SLR taken from a TR is the engine...... And OT, but at Dijon there will be two, as I’m sharing the red one with its owner there.....

Gerard, mon ami, je sais bien parler votre langue maternal, mais mon ecriture est loin d'etre parfait - see what l mean !

Concerning the GTAm , l only throw a few spanners at it from time to time ! It has a very hi spec, with a 2 plug testa stretta, full 'slittoni' rear end & all other period items. The owners are true Alfisti & it's my good fortune to know them & get to work on the car from time to time.

It runs Webers, as most people agree that period Spica injection gives very little extra power, but a shed load more of problems, so really not worth it !
Pity you will not be at Spa as it would be great to meet u with you. A la prochaine, alors !

You only have to look at the entry to see.The SLR is unique to say the least.I do prefer a Cobra though 😁.

Its great seeing a 427 Cobra in CER1.

Martin I know your french speaking is good. Being from a Flamish/Belgian family I should speak your language but I'm totally unable to! I guess your engine is a 2 liter as per appendix allowance. I remember you told me your slittoni (guillotine de pont AutoDelta in bad French) works fine because its well adjusted and using a lot of grease. Have fun there!
