Sad to see reports that Norman Dewis has died.

It's a repeat of the one that was shown in 2013. It's worth watching again though

Very sad - a real character gone. I was only reading an article about him in the latest Classic and Sports Car magazine the other day - apparently Richard Frankel had promised that as a 100th birthday present he would lend Norman his C-type and he could drive it at 100mph.......but recently Norman had suggested that they might have to "bring it forward a bit". Sadly a prophetic remark.....

Very sorry to hear that, but what a life! With him goes a huge archive of Jaguar memories. RIP Norman.

Just spotted some very enterprising sparrows in the truck pre-boarding area at Ouistreham (Caen) port. Soon as another Camion arrives they descend on the cab front and pick off all the dead flies.

Supper made easy!

As it’s Whit Monday holiday in France and normal trucking not allowed, the line up consists totally of fridge trucks....., and me.

Wondered why the roads back to Calais were nice and quiet. Wall to wall VOSA at Dover when I got off. Just a little trip to Mallory this Sunday. Kids are taking me out to favorite restaurant Sunday evening. Pizza and Lemonade.

Ha! So your absence is the reason the Escort race at Cadwell was abandoned!

The roads in France were quiet as it was a national holiday and most trucks were not allowed to move!

So who or what were DVSA- or whatever they call themselves at the moment targeting?

Think there were only 4 entries GP. If me and Mike went that would only be six so still canned. Looking forward to Mallory. Even more if I can get Duncan started and out onto the track. You up for breakfast Bob ???

It would have to be Larkins, though.

When I read these last two posts on my phone i missed the quote. It said:

"You up for breakfast?"

"It would have to be Larkin's"

Jeez, that's dedication. Even I can't manage old ale for breakfast.

Just saw that '584 PEA' has been listed on Car & Classic - a beautiful car that hopefully goes to someone who will continue to care for her just as well. Does this mean that there is a new project on the cards Joe?

I would think he is looking forward to racing the Tornado Talisman that he has been rebuilding.
I notice that I wasn't mentioned in the "famous drivers" in the advert

About 8 Hours in now watching Le Mans on Eurosport.

Can't imagine how it would have been in the 70s and 80s with all the legendary cars and battles.

Some brilliant racing.

Just sitting in the sunshine at Le Mans having coffee and Qwassons before heading for the channel.

Yup a great experience. I'll post a few more thoughts later.
