Ferrari. It's clearly a pig of car to drive but both Alonso and Kimi brought their cars home in the points and there was some racing between the two of them, something that hasn't been seen at Ferrari for a few years.

Those Silver Arrows again. What more can you say? They were 50 seconds ahead of the Red Bull.

Maybe we need to start making the polls "other than Mercedes..." I went with Mercedes because of the pure domination, but wasn't happy with Lewis's pit team.

This is going to get boring: Mercedes.
I could only find one point where they lacked perfection: a couple of slight fumbles on Lewis's pitstops. I'm not sure how the stationary times compared but Lewis's total time in the pitlane was 2 seconds more than Nico's. Who else might it have been? Red Bull have got a seriously quick chassis somewhat hampered by the PU. However they didn't just "drop the ball" with Vettel's car, they dropped a whole bag full. Williams are still looking better than the results they achieve. It will come though. Ferrari allowed their drivers to race each other, for the first time in about 20 years. Probably not a policy decision though; just that getting Kimi to move over for The Chosen One would be about as easy as herding a field full of cats. |

Just to make a change from voting Mercedes, I went for Lotus, who have shown massive improvements (well,on one of their cars at least).

Red Bull Racing. Brilliant pit calls and strategy to get Vettel from 15 to 4th. Vettel would've been in the lower end of the top 10 if not for RBR's excellent strategy. They also managed to punk Williams out of a podium! Team of the race by a mile.
At the opposite end of the scale is Williams. If only Williams could get their strategy calls right they would've had Massa safely in the top 10, and Bottas on the podium. Once again Williams botched their strategy calls. |

Oops, forgot to add another critical point to why RBR is team of the race. Top two fastest pit stops for the race was RBR. Both on Vettel's car. Lap 33 and 52. All five RBR stops in the top ten fastest times.

While yes it was refreshing to see the Ferrari duo allowed to race each other, they did qualify in the 10 (6th and 7th) and they finished in the same position. Alonso was +87 seconds behind the mercs and Kimi got lapped. You could hardly call it a stella performance from this once mighty team. There was way better team performances then what Ferrari served up. |
