Junior Touring Car Championship (JTCC) - Sweden

From the 2008 STCC topic:

Rickard Javanainen will probably move up from Renault Junior Cup to JTCC with an Engström Civic I believe.
Are JTCC cars close to super production cars?
What's the budget for a season?

The cars are 1.6 litre cars at about 200hp. A car cost about 20 000€ I've heard, a season budget isnt that big, if you dont crash a lot. I'd imagine you'd be able to do a season around 30 000€.
Meissner should know a lot more tho.

Baltic federations planned a similar class, but only one car ever raced. How ever, technical regulations in English can be found here: http://ringrada.ee/documents/B16002006.pdf

Those rules are really close to JTCC... I think the only major difference is that RWD (=BMW) is allowed.

Alex K has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
From VERY reliable source I know blokes in Sweden, NOT ALL OF THEM, crash a lot. I can understand guys backed by companies, but this is expesive sport for privateers, a real privateers. My friend drove Carrera Cup Scandinavia this year, and the bills just for knocks were huge.

It is happenning......The Dunlop Sport Maxx Cup for production spec cars gets full championship status in 2007 and stars in the Dunlop Great and British Package. (albeit not TOCA)

The pilot season saw a mix of interesting cars battle...... Megane R26, Astra VXR, Nissan 350Z, Clio, Alfa 147 etc etc
