I should give it to Giovanardi who was faultless.
However, he has the title, so I am going for the sympathy vote. I give it to JP for running it close despite some pretty painful injuries (adrenaline or not, he can't have possibly hit 100%) and having to fight four Vauxhalls. Sorry, three. |

Well, Plato and Gio couldn't share the title, and they can't share DotD either, so I'll give this one to Plato for racing through the pain barrier. And the Matt Neal barrier.

I wanted to give it to Plato for the aforementioned reasons - but two wins and a second - who can argue against that ?

This is a close call. Gio was indeed flawless but under the circumstances I'd have to pick Plato.

Tough one. One one hand you have to hand it to Plato for even being there. He was clearly in pain and I'm surprised the doctors even allowed him to race.
On the other hand Gio did exactly what was required of him with the minimum of fuss, and in my view would have achieved much the same result without the interferences of others. Menu and Chilton did little of note to warrant being on the shortlist. Good showing by both Jackson and Turkington, although I'd like to find out what happened at the chicane in race 3 before passing judgement. |

My vote goes to Gio, he raced fairly and did exactly what was required to win the championship.
He is a real winner. |

From this pic I've no idea how he managed to get it pointing this way... http://www.btcc.net/images/gallery/lg_3431_ce6d.jpg |

Doesn't show if Turks made a mistake or if it was Jackson's fault, although from the pic I'm guessing the former.

I admire Plato for giving it his all, but there was only one man better than him this weekend and that was Gio so my votes for him. Something that made me laugh tho was Tom Chilton before the weekend. He came out and said 'We retired last time out with a puncure so we can't have the same bad luck twice'.....then he goes and suffers a puncture in the first race! Gotta love irony!

Irony, irony... That puncure did happen to him for a reason, it being car-setup, or driving style. If you don't change any of that it will happen to you again. In the season-2006-dvd you can clearly see that some drivers use the curbs a lot less than other drivers. Btw in 2005 Chilton also had a puncture at Thruxton, so maybe he has to think about that....

No other option. How about Neal for driving with a damaged car, and still being able to fend off Plato.
