Acid dipping? in the Midlands

Hi,
apologies if i've posted in the wrong forum..

I am looking for somewhere that could acid dip a chassis and rollcage in the midlands, Leicestershire? It is an old range rover classic chassis we want to clean up as the basis for adding a space frame to.

Is acid dipping the best way to go? If not what are the other alternatives?

Does anyone have any recommendations/experience?

What sort of cost am i looking at

No one else has answered in four days, so here's my two penn'orth.
For an acid dip to be effective, don't you need to remove ALL the old paint, joint sealant etc? At which point, treatment with phosphoric acid painted on, or an acid etch primer will be as good?

Unless you want to use the acid to reduce the total body weight, which is a bit sneaky!

From the two cars I've seen done I wouldn't recommend it. The first problem is that they can't get rid of all the acid and it starts rusting the moment they wash it off. As of last year there was nowhere to get it electroplated (or whatever they call it) immediately after the process so the metal will not be protected.

IMHO the sensible approach would be firstly to degrease the whole thing with a good pressure washer: tip: Screwfix sell a cheap and effective degreaser which can be sprayed on using a cheap washing down gun.

Next simply sandblast: proper sandblasting needs a good sized air compressor.

Finally, finish the metal in etching primer (two pot) and red oxide and proceed from there.
