Yes but it took super-enthusiast (and wealthy) Tom Wheatcroft to do it. I cant imagine Rockingham having the same romantic draw somehow...

Its a shame to see any racing venue close. I dare say that it may have had more business if it were a traditional style race track and not chiefly an oval.

It would have had more business if it wasn't restricted to 10 weekends of operation per year.

Not sure what gave you that idea as they've run double that number of race weekends every year for a while now with trackdays and corporate events taking the weekdays.
