You can kind of tell both probably felt they took it too far with their measured quotes afterward. Plus no harsh words for the other. Was nice to see they stayed above all that. If kne was clearly at fault though, I think there would have been more said post race.

Lots of people criticizing Verstappen. F1 would be in a much poorer state without him. He is generating of excitement and stir every race. He is always aggressive and fearless....a true racer. He is the last guy that anyone would want to follow because he is a master at defending position. He is the last guy you want behind you because he is fearless/dangerous and will make a move. Even I am scared of him when I see him on the track. There is no playing chicken with this guy and F1 needs a driver like this to keep things exciting. I am so tired of driver's whining about someone being unfair or too aggressive. It is a race isn't it? Verstappen is a talented guy, no doubt about it. He has had a little bad luck where things haven't went his way, but that is racing. At least he is not sitting back waiting for things to happen. He makes it happen and no one can disagree with that.

Verstappen has those capabilities, but he is unrefined and lacks polish and patience. However RBR don't mind, as the old saying goes - you can tidy up speed, but you can't speed up tidiness. |

Exactly. Verstappen undoubtedly great for fans and is an absolute pleasure to watch, right up until he does the double change of direction in defence. I even loved his attempt at a bold move around the outside of Hamilton on a fast corner with marbles. I watch those things unfolding and can’t believe how unrefined and impulsive he is. As he lined up Hamilton in China I sat there completely disbelieving he thought that was going to work. Hamilton didn’t even need to escort him off the track, he lost the back all by himself and went to do some lawn mowing... Still it is hugely entertaining and as we know he is the same guy capable of races like Brazil 2016. Having said that, one wonders how his reputation would be if the Brazil race had ended in the wall coming up the hill as it so nearly did. It would have confirmed all the current views that he still needs more experience and some tempering of his natural desire to push to the limit all the time (which of course is why he is so entertaining to watch). What was it Rosberg said? He hates it when Max has to retire, because then the race is suddenly less exciting

Unfortunately for Max I feel he’s been riding those coat tails of that particular performance ever since, and he needs to take a small step back and realise not every race will be like that where he will be on another level to everyone else. Once he begins to respect his competitors and get a bit more patience, those moves will start to stick more. Baku may be a turning point, but I still think he’ll have a few more incidents before he gets more polish. |

I think the problem with Max in China was he was trying to win, which is why he made a couple of rash moves. Whilst Ricciardo was dealing with one position at a time and as a result got the win. That’s the difference

"Max knows now – when the next incident occurs, the blame is automatically on him, whether he can help it or not, because he's been involved in so many collisions lately," said Marko."

So Max better keep his hooter clean in Spain, otherwise he’s only holding himself back

What a shame Max made that unnecessary mistake. We have been denied the prospect of two RBR drivers going at it for pole

Hemet Marko: "He has to learn not always to drive flat out. They are all different incidents but this one for sure is a very unnecessary one.
"I think he is not patient enough. He wants always to prove he is the fastest but the result is only when you cross the line. He needs to be more patient, judge the situations better. "Issue is maybe not the right word. It is always a different situation but they are all because he is impatient." Strong words from a man who has previously fired his drivers for much less. And for much less pay. |

As an Aussie who is more a Danny fan than Max I have to admit that Danny (as he himself admitted) was also at fault and as a result was happy to and needed to apologise to the factory for his part of the incident. He chose to apologise and was not forced.
