creedaz should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
how to start out

hey, this is my first time posting here. but i was wondering, how do you get into go-karting. like the real thing. ive been to one of those 40mph go-kart racing places a few times and i had a blast. and it just so happens that i cant get enough of pure racing. ive heard of some schools like the Bondurant school of racing, and the skip barber racing school. both ive heard are excelent. well i gotta go.

thanx

creedaz, welcome! My suggestion is to go visit the track(s) nearest you as much as you can and just start looking around, ask as many questions as possible. Karters like to help new guys!

When I first started, I went to a karting school and by the time I was finished, I was hooked.

Which school depends upon where you live?

Schools are not always necessary. I never had any training and learnt by myself in practice days and my early races by following the fast guys. For example, the championship leader for half the season helped me set the kart up and teach me race craft. Then, in the final i paid him back by holding his title rival up when i was high on the grid and up to race pace

lol

as they say, go along and find out how the event is run, and speak with drivers (and officials) about getting started.
