Just beware - according to VSCC there will no infield parking this year.

Normally for this event parking is adjacent to the paddock. I checked with the circuit and they say some parking will be available over the first bridge but not beyond the second, with overspill parking if needed on the outside.

Hopefully we can get in and park up at Luffield and wander to the paddock from there. Cheers for the heads up.

Interesting entry list, Fox and Nichol.
Last year we were prevented entering Talbot because it was to quick!
Race was won by a quick Alvis Special that laps GP track at same asTalbot 3 49.
This year it’s obviously all comers!
They wonder why some grids are not full!
We will do MRL and Peter Auto with our Pre War Cars this year.
Pity
We will

Lovely cars and weather, good racing. Lovely to wander the garages and paddock.
If there had been a commentary team that had a clue it would have been a near perfect day.

Yep i'll thirds that one. Was a really good day from start to finish, way more people there spectating than i was expecting which lead to lots of random conversations between the races about how everything was better in the olden days!

Sum really odd ball machines out to play this weekend, with The Hornet Racing Special taking top prize. You really have to have a screw or two lose to drive that thing.

Great battle in the HGPACA race for second between Tom Dark ( Copper T51) and Andy Middlehurst (Lotus 25).

I have realised over the years that much changes as to relative performance levels on vintage and historic cars, clearly some are more developed than others, while it may be that changing characteristics of tyres/circuits etc, might also effect the outcome.

How an Indy roadster can compete with Formula 1 cars from a similar era still baffles me.

Thanks for posting a picture of the Connaught.

We're not too happy about the inclusion of indycars, 4.2 litres is hard to keep up with when you only have 2.5 litres!
It's a bit of a surprise to see that they can turn right as well as left though!

Peter, I know Simon Diffey quite well, as he is a 'local boy', hence rather a lot of Connaught in this album which, I hope you enjoy.

Well for a start many Indy roadsters are Formula One cars............

The other thing that is often not understood is that whilst they have an offset engine, the drivers weight is the other side and they have pretty even weight distribution left to right. It wasnt until the late 50s that they started off-setting the axles. Those late cars would not be as balanced left and right, but the earlier cars are fine (and a whole lot of fun)

It is probably President Trump's fault, he seems to get the blame for most of the worlds ills these days.

I also admired Wild Bill Vukovich in the day.
