Full credit to RJN they have worked hard on the GTR GT3 project for a long time but their wins always leave me with a sour taste in my mouth.

What will happen to all the current spec GT3 cars? Will they be given BOP to compete against the new crop of cars?

Is this in BSS or BES or both?

Not 100% sure but I think both. Their logic is somewhat lost in the sprint series though, where there's no refueling IIRC.

The sprint calendar is missing usual interesting rounds at Nogaro and Zolder too, which is a real pity.

Fixed length stops in the Am class would be fine. But the Pro class is a full Pro class and should be treated as such.

As long as they don't make they get out of the car, while it is being refuelled, like in British GT.

It's only fair. The technology should be about the cars, not the pit stop equipment. It's crazy that a team like Black Falcon is right up there during qualifying and then loses so much ground just by pit stops alone. Pit stop crews will still have to work hard to send the car away right at the minimum pit stop time.

Here's an interview I did with Yelmer Buurman in which he explains why their season in Blancpain GT was such a disappointment: http://www.gt-report.com/2015/09/27/...-without-luck/

And while you're at it, why not check out the gallery of the Nürburgring 3h: http://www.gt-report.com/2015/09/26/zero-to-hero-pt-ii/

Very interesting interview Miguel, i did not realise the restrictors were adjusted depending on what grade track they are racing on.

Thanks bro! I think they've been using that format now for two seasons, since they stopped using FIA's BoP in the Sprint Series, but I'm not sure.

next year's spa 24hr will have changed driver combinations from this year.

Pro--‐Am Cup:
Max
P/P/B/B
or
P/S/S/B
or
S/S/S/B

so no golds allowed unless golds can be substituted for platinums as has been the case in previous years.

Noone talking of next year's Bentley even improved factory effort, I think they are the favorite with audi to the SRO's champs here at Europe.

Bit harsh on Meyrick I would have thought, but Abril is a good bet for another impressive season.

But the reason people make Audi their favourites isn't just down to their drivers...

Yes. The R8 is simply the best package. Relatively small body, naturally aspirated large displacement V10 in the middle of the car, not restricted by corporate positioning like the street car and, unlike the sibling Gallardo/Huracán, has actual works support in the biggest races.

Bentley needs more than good drivers to beat Audi.

I bet the Huracan is one of the best cars next year. I think the Grasser team will make a nice improvement. Someone needs to run it in VLN. I actually think the car to beat will be the AMG GT3. But theyll need strong drivers.

Lambo, Audi, Mercedes.

If you make Audi your favorite for next season, you also have to mention the Lambo. Before the Spa 24h this year, I read a story about the Huracan in the german magazine "Sport Auto". One of the Lambo guys basically said, that they are quite optimistic about the Spa 24h, not because they did so many endurance tests before, but because Audi won the N24h with the new R8.

What every AMG GT3 test driver will tell you, is that this car is amazing. 35+ hours of testing and racing in one stretch without any serious problems. At the end of it even crossing the finish line in VLN8 in front of everyone else, finishing second after a time penalty. I think it'll be a close battle between AMG and Audi, but BoP might change everything.

The AMG GT is a good deal smaller than the SLS. I assume the GT3 version is a lot lighter as well?

They are almost the same car so the Huracán is also very performant, but don't have the same level of support as the Audi, which I addressed in my post.

It should be! It's got the old tried-and-true 6.2L V8 in a much better package.

Yup, the AMG GT3 is better than the SLS in every aspect, and that's saying a lot. I know of one team who are looking to race three cars next year, but might have to settle on two because AMG has many orders.
