gttouring should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Gordon #24

No secret I like #24, but here is the thing
he has won 2 in a row, and is 5th in points
1 -- Matt Kenseth 4678 Leader
2 +1 Dale Earnhardt Jr. 4420 -258
3 -1 Kevin Harvick 4416 -262
4 +1 Jimmie Johnson 4412 -266
5 +1 Jeff Gordon 4382 -296
they are all separated by 40 points!!!!
and it is possible for Gordon to win in the remaining 3 races!
could he pull out a championship out of this mess?
I think the Roush boys have done a spectacular job with Matt this year, but gordon is really cookin now
a 5th? then maybe 8 titles soon? oh man

He has ALOT of work to do before he gets his 5th.
& YOUR COUNTING UP TO 8???
Seems like 5,6 & 7 have to happen first.

As much as I don't want a Rouschmobile to win the title- it's better than Jeffie.

I do think that Jeff Gordon will have 8+ Championships before His career is done, barring any unforseen tragedy, but not this year because of the following:

Jeff has to make +296 points to take the Title, this would require(for example) that Jeff Gordon has 3 perfect race(185 points x 3 races)& receive +555 points, while Matt Kenseth would have to average no better than a 26th place finish(85 points x 3 races) & receive no bonus points(255 total points) over the same 3 race span, mathematically possible, but not very realistic.I do think that Jeff Gordon has an excellent chance for His 2nd season finishing in the 2nd position in the point standings,I'm so impressed with the #24's 6 straight Top 5 finishes, now that's consistancy, hope it continues into 2004,if it does,Jeff & that team will be very hard to beat.

No he won't finish in second position if NASCAR can help it. What a phony penaltie to 24 at the rock today.

Agreed,NASCAR should also have penalized Greg Biffle,Kevin Harvick & Robby(rubby)Gordon in the past as well, because Jeff did nothing more than a lot of the above drivers have done before, the only difference is that Jeff gets penalised for it while the other drivers didn't,NASCAR plays faves IMO,look at how Dale Jr. didn't get penalised earlier this year after His car carried debris for at least 3 full laps,no black flag, later in same race He goes below the yellow line(RP race)& gains a position, again no black flag,it's downright absurd at times.

well #24 Gordon has to fight in 2004, Well done to Matt kenseth for taking the championship in sheer tenacity, if not wins, 1 is better than most but Newman really took the crown 11 poles so far and 9 wins is it?

Matt kenseth (the silent champion) really did a sneaky number this year.
Always being near the front, but winning once, and never bumping or rubbing, or wrecking- which saved him, he was a clean driver, but didn't drive like a madman possessed for the champion ship- he rode into it quietly, while Newman took alot of press.
Gordon has a lot of work to do next year fighting off the likes of the Roush Racers, the Penske guys, and his own team. I think he might do better, as consistency and wins became his style near season end- he very well should keep it up. he'd better.
