Broadcast changes...
FOX, TNT, and ESPN all have not announced their lineups, but it is confirmed that for ESPN, Jerry Punch will be put back in the pits, where he was before ESPN sold the rights. Marty Reid will replace him.
I doubt that will be the only change for all 3 channel broadcast groups. |

That's a shame. I like Jerry Punch much more than Marty Reid.

they should've never let Dr. Punch out of the pit lane. he's a much better pit reporter than he is a play by play. i'm not sure how much i like Marty....
i wish Bob Jenkins was still with the Micky Mouse Gang. as long as i get my weekend dose of DW for half the year, i'll be pleased |

As long as DW goes away and Weber stays gone, I'm happy.

Actually, I'm betting that Sheheen will be back as TNT's main booth broadcaster. Weber was yanked from the broadcasts back at the end of June.

True, but lets face it, calling a race at Pocono isn't exactlly the top of the line gig, and than there is the fact that TNT isn't the grandest of networks, and they only have 5 races.

My wish? Alan Bestwick as the main booth broadcaster for one of the 3 networks.

But, he knows more than other commentators involved in the sport, and doesn't make stupid comments like others do. |

Sheheen wasn't bad with TNT, though. I liked him a lot more than I ever had during that stint. What he said was fine. His voice is really hard to listen to. I'll never forget his F1 broadcasts on CBS in 2006. The San Marino Grand Prix. He must have said "Michael Schumacher lives for this" at least twice a lap for the last 10 laps. As for ESPN...don't like Punch as play-by-play. Don't like Reid as anything. Not much of an improvement. |

I'll admit it. I like ol' Ralphie because he saved me from Weber. I've never heard his other broadcasts, but he proves to me (with TNT) that just one person can improve a entire broadcast.

So let me get this straight...no live Sprint Cup on Sky Sports (as confirmed by Keith Huewen) or any other channel, and no highlights on Five?
Not good |

Look like ESPN may get the races, emailed them a week or so ago.
I don't know how many races they'd do though. Can't see them doing the ones before Indy. |
