Hi Erik

Good choice and by the sounds of it good luck to come to Brands whilst the Masters in on! Brands is a superb viewing circuit particularly on the GP loop where you can get close at high speed and there is little debris fencing, it can get muddy if wet and if the wind blows Brands can be cold even in May!
Would be good if we could recognise you and say Hi, maybe a distinctive cap or jacket, maybe you could advise.

I was thinking about that. A Chaparral hat or shirt might be appropriate since I'm a Texan, and a big Can-Am fan (sorry to hear that Interserie cars won't be present, assuming that's what "garaged" means). I'll make sure to let everyone know what I come up with.

Hi Erik and welcome! Think that means the Interserie and Proto 70 cars will be located in the pit garages rather than paddock.

I'm entered in the same race on Monday in Touring 70s class, so if you get time with all the other things going on come and say hi- pity you can't make sunday as well as am bit short on pit crew........................

Not unless you want to be taken out by an armed response unit of our wonderful British police wielding Heckler and Koch automatics! We're kind of funny about firearms over here!

White flag man--that is very generous of you as well. I will have to look into exactly where our hotel is and get back to you, as it would be nonsense to send you far out of your way over a couple of pounds train fare, but if it works out well for everyone, conversation with a fellow enthusiast makes any trip more pleasant.

Again, I'm absolutely blown away. The racing community in the States tends to be a friendly bunch as well so I was hopeful that I would get a decent response, but this is something special.
Eep,
As long as the hotel isn't at Heathrow airport I'm sure I can manage it.
English trains on a Bank Holiday Monday........
Do bring some warm/waterproof cloths just in case. The Brands Hatch climate can be pretty nasty. Two marshals had to go to the med centre due to the conditions last Sunday
We're likely to be driving through South London, so I may well be carrying my six-shooter!

That's a good point about the weather, historically this weekend has been wet wet and even wetter. We could probably find you some waterproofs between us if you're not bringing that type of clothing but Europe in May probably require waterproofs anyway!

Will drop you a PM with some contact details

Excuse me, we are very concerned about noise pollution in south London so it's only knives before 8am.

Only news I've heard is via Masters, but check out the threads in Trackside about Donington, as there are some links there to news reports.

Both Proto / Touring / Interserie races on Monday. (Practice Sunday.)

Provisional timetable here

As for CSLs, was one out at Snetterton but guess there may be more at Brands.

With Masters no entry list until the event.

Excellent news. Just looked at the timetable and I'm very excited about what I'm going to get to see.

Update on attire--I have ordered my Chaparral hat, which will be white with black trim, and I remembered that I have a maroon Texas Embassy Cantina t-shirt that also seems very appropriate, so I'll probably throw that on as well, weather permitting.

One other thing, it occurred to me that one way I might be able to try to pay back all this kindness would be by snapping some photos on my way around the track and through the paddock and passing them on. Anyone who will be driving on that day and would like to let me know their race and car number, I'll do my very best to get some decent shots of you.
