Fuel tank advice?
Hello,
I am just looking for advice for the size of fuel tank I am going to need ? The car is a 2002tii and will be running in groovy baby series (uk rounds ) so between 45m`s and 1 hour ( Maybe spa ) . The engine is pretty standard. What do you guys think? Best Regards DAJ |

Been doing some calculations...
2.6 miles of Donnington x18 laps ( 2005 was a 30mins race ) 36 laps for 2006 1 hour race 36 laps x 2.6 miles = 93 miles Say 12mpg for the 2002tii ? = 7.7 gallons for 1 hour race at Donnington? I think a 10 gallon or 50 litres should be safe enough to cover everything including spa? |

I use 60 litres for one hour at Spa. And don't forget it must be foam filled to comply with FIA requirements.

>>>36 laps for 2006 1 hour race
36 laps x 2.6 miles = 93 miles === you sure you can average 93mph for an hour in a 2002TI ? |

The winning car (courtesy MST Timing http://www.msttiming.com/result.asp?...tdonington.gif)
1 18 A2 Leo VOYAZIDES Ford Mustang 30:56.307 18 68.26 1:27.179 As can be seen the average is 68.26 mph. FWIW I suffered a misfire at 5k revs plus and averaged 66.67mph. |

I use about 35-40 litres an hour, averaging around the 70 miles an hour mark, so roughly speaking 9 mpg !!!
so I have a 60 litre tank !!! it does mean I can go and do the 3 hour this summer with 1 stop |
