But, a great weekend, by far the most enjoyable meeting for me all year
Agree Bob. A lot of the Historic guys just raced on Saturday.I think we could make this event bigger and better. I for one enjoyed racing with the URS boy's. Very quick but more important all very competent. Great fun. Just sending you a PM.

had yanky racer to visit last week he said in usa HANS are now compulsory typical usa law suit / insurance led format
im sure if they stuck head in gas ovens we all would follow suit
i can remember it was only 1990/91 that fire proof race suits where compulsory till then it was optional

Gerry? How many drivers got summoned to see the beak as there seemed to be LOTS of folks consistently running over the astroturf at Copse?

Is this you and your guys, btw? What had happened? He spent the race kicking the fence, then hopped in, started it, and drove away???

Tim,

I did report some of the more persistent and most "geographically variant" offenders during the weekend and at least one did get a formal reprimand During the final I reported a virtually universal disregard for the line marking the outside of the circuit and again gave the numbers of the very worst offenders but if all offenders had been black-flagged it would have been about a 5-car race after a few laps. As so many were doing it I don't think anyone gained a significant advantage.

The guys in your picture were part of my team but not me - you don't seriously expect the Observer to do any real work do you? I don't know what was up with the car, it rolled to a stop and wouldn't restart but fired-up immediately he got back into it after the race.

PS - Tim did you ever manage to upload the picture you took of me for the spot the logo section? (flagging in a black body-warmer at Chapel earlier this year.)

I don't suppose you got any of us orange brethren standing looking gormlessly on as the road sweeper sucked that pond up, did you? Or the Lola that lost it just before the bridge in the Allcomers Closed Wheel qualifying in the morning?

If it is not nipped in the bud may as well do away with the while lines alltogether!

Especially when there are marshals on the run off retrieving a busted car... I presume he was the one for the severe ticking off!

Marshalls in orange? 3 of, before first bridge? I gotcha.

Gerry, I have a LONG thread in the Admin section, where I hadn't got access to the Logo gallery. I do now!
I just have to track down all the pictures for it.

wow do marshalls move?

i often wonder if they look at the racers and say to each other " wow these guys are brave" or "wow these guys cant drive a greasy stick up a dogs..... i can drive faster and Piquet in 78 did a 53.3 in that car and look at the driver in it today! "

all i can say is
wow guys are brave to stand out there all day long in wind rain sun and when some one falls off you run out there to move the car !

Yep, ta - that's more or less the same shot as the previous one, looking from the embankment on the bridge.

My children are loving this, I must say
