And no Mugello, which if I remember correctly was under consideration along with Turkey for that October date.

No Spa is a shame though, I was really looking forward to going there...

A shame not to have Spa in 2006. What can the reason be for Spa´s withdrawal?

Bad results last years, spectator wise. No decent facilities (mmm, that's new). They made a huge loss.
I even just heard the Belgian MSA refused the date for this year, but I guess that is a fib.

Autosport did say that the proposed date was taken over by ??F3?? a different series anyhow but they were trying to find another date.

So it could be true

its hardly surprising theres no istanbul there was about 500 people there last season and i think 450 of those were merc employees. Brands will definitly be on the indy circuit, which is rubbish. What sort of lap time do you think a DTM could do around there?

The LeMans website has the DTM marked as provisional for the TBA date, looking around the other possibles of Instanbul, Spa and Mugello. There is no mention of DTM in 06 on any of their websites.

Should be fairly frantic on the Indy circuit though shouldn't it? Lap times should be low 40's I guess?

The attendance at the last UK round of the DTM wasn't that good but I'd expect Brands to be packed out for this one, you can bet there'll be plenty of promotion going on.

It will be on the Indy circuit

I can see it being very much like a Norisring race.

There are no more dates avaliable for the GP circuit as other series have taken the limited amount of GP circuit date

However it looks like the second BTCC meeting is no longer on the GP circuit, which would make it available for another date.

I was really looking forward to going to Brands and the race using the Grand Prix circuit, yeah with the Indy circuit you get to see the whole circuit but it's not the same, espcially if it's a DTM car.

Since the BTCC have decided not to race on the GP loop will the DTM take the vacated time and race on the GP loop?

why would they put those streakingly fast cars on a little ole course like Brands Indy? I just watched a tape of the Champ car race from there and it was uninsiparing to say the least. they need to race the full circuit, i thought they were TOURING CARS!

First of all the Champ Cars at Brands were boring but that was due to the fact that CART mandated two green flag fuel stops so it was a fuel mileage race.

The reason that DTM are not on the GP loop is down to the fact that there are not enough days on GP loop ( Brands is limited by the local council to the number of days that race vehicles can use the GP loop) left to accomadate them

Why are Brands limited to how many times they can use the loop, has it always been this way?

Yes it has. It was part of the conditions of the granting of planning permission
