123 miles of sea according to Bing maps yet the entire journey from my location and with about 180 road miles both sides of the ferry should still take less than 11 hours. Only about 3 hours longer than Eurotunnel - if it has not been filled in by then. |

And if we're allowed to go, headline in one paper today "Brits told not to book overseas holiday." Also ten days in a Travelodge when you get back isn't appealing.
How much is the Calais ferry? Sent from my AC2003 using Tapatalk |

Credit where it's due ...
Emailed the MSUK Medical Team on Sunday asking whether I could renew my licence without needing a updated medical, got a reply to that on Monday afternoon saying 'ok'. (Of course that's because I will drop back from an International to a National licence this year, wouldn't have been the case otherwise, and i would have needed a fresh medical and stress ecg).
Posted the completed form (with a printed copy of the email exchange) on Monday. Got an email acknowledging receipt yesterday, and an email just now advising me that my new licence is on it's way. Great service, thanks to MSUK licencing and medical teams. |

Just read that MSVR had a break in over the weekend @ Cadwell and the scroats took the BMW M240i Safety Car & BMW X5 Medical Car.
A nice project for some low life. |

Hope that doesn't give people ideas at other circuits -I guess the keys will have to be removed from the circuits overnight, now. Cars will probably get broken for spares......you'd have thought they'd have been distictive on the road - thinking about the one I drove at Oulton it was pretty well liveried up. |

Good point on them being easily identifiable. Probably why they did the robbery at night and they’ve probably hidden way out of plain sight now |

Aparently someone had just walked into the South Circuit and seen the keys were in the said Porsche,as then not registered.Just calmly drove out of the main gate with a friendly wave.Gone forever. |

First time we raced at Spa we went Hull - Rotterdam and the journey time from Rotterdam to Spa was about the same as from Calais to Spa. Cost was not much more than Dover Calais sailing and had the added benefit of sleeping overnight at sea instead of slogging down the A1/A14/M25/M20 with the inevitable delays around the QE2 bridge. Arriving back at Hull around 7-30 am on the Monday morning also meant not missing an extra work day.
Second time we went a couple of years later the Hull-Rotterdam cost had rocketed and it was a lot more cost effective to do Dover-Calais if not as relaxing. |

For anyone bored out of their skull the Daytona 24 is this coming weekend, it will be streamed on IMSA TV. I recognise it's not exactly historic but given the current situation it provide a bit of escapism! qualifying from last weekend here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l4SNtOdEdaE&t=6s

Absolutely no problem. Mind you, to be brutally honest, I have been teetotal for more than 15 years, and I can say, hand on heart, that I haven't missed alcohol in the least since the day that I decided to no longer consume it. And the same applies to smoking, which I gave up at around the same time. I made a decision that I no longer wanted to smoke - I went through up to 10 Hamlet cigars a day - so one Christmas Day whilst I lived in Spain, I gave up the habit. And as it was not possible to purchase any tobacco products on that day, I couldn't possibly weaken my resolve and go out and buy any more. |

No problem for me as I gave up drinking two years ago, feel a lot better for it and have noticed that since then eBay send me a lot less late night purchases of things that red wine makes you think are a good idea!

All dry, 3rd year I've done it and the first year I actually feel better for it. Only gripe is 2 years ago, I think as a consequence, I started suffering from PMR. Its not nice, but in the grand scheme of things I can't complain, it hasn't stopped me doing anything. Strangely, not drinking makes it worse, red wine does have medicinal qualities!
Current thinking is to fight it off and stay off the sauce at home, ie not bother drinking until I can go out and enjoy a decent pint or two whilst watching a band, I have some good AF beers to quench ones thirst, I don't like sugary drinks. Maybe justy the odd bottle or good red with a decent meal of a weekend. Seems to me most people struggle with sensible rationing more than either drinking or not. |

Funny thing is my dry January just happened, I didn’t choose to do it. I’m not sure if it’s the same for any others?
