The Manta sadly got hit from both sides while being overtaken yesterday evening. Finished up with deranged front left corner suspension and body work, so had to be recovered to pits. The crew went to work, helped by neighbour mechanics running a Seat. As the car was never going to be classified they waited until the end and the repaired car completed the last lap. As it left the pits it got a standing ovation from the wall and lane, which was very fitting. Got to be the most famous car in the race....

Sadly the Seat crew helping lost their car in an accident during the night, when it vaulted the Armco. Worst crash was when a Cayman failed to twig a slow zone and ran slap bang into the back of the car it was following, which had braked. The Porsche was unrecognisable, but drivers OK.

One all lady team (incl pit crew) running a Golf GTi had the engine let go after an hour or so. They then set to and replaced the whole engine transmission package and got the car to the finish!

What a race, makes LM look a piece of cake.....

I hadn't watched a live GP all year as I only get it on the SS Main Event channel with BT so it only shows the live races occasionally if nothing bigger on.Wish I hadn't of bothered tbh.More excitement watching paint dry as they say.

I regret to say that F1 is a completely cr@p part of our sport now and does motor racing no favours at all.

Delta goes to bed and I nip out to the garage to put the finishing touches to the Lenham before Spa! (just attaching the exhaust, and trying to find a working tacho).

Just checked temperature forecast for the big weekend meetings- Spa up to mid 30s, Magny-Cours approaching 40s, Brands high 20s. So stay at home it is, then.

Wall to wall Scorchio......

Cannot wait to see the M8F out again.Hope to maybe meet you there if I go.

Do you normally spectate on the bank down to Graham Hill bend?

Always a laugh when someone parks there car on that bit or like the other week where someone tried driving up the the wing at Silverstone

Right, Friday and Saturday could be very hot at Magny. May be Sunday will be better. The sea is far away and the next forest is not so close…

To be honest Gordon, it's pretty cool here in Wiltshire too. I don't need a pool, I don't need beer, saves me a fortune

You know how the one thing we all bang on about is that there aren't enough competing series? No?

Well, they say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery - so CSCC should feel very flattered by BRSCC, who I see have just launched the Clubman Trophy mini-enduro series, and even got Motorsport UK to issue a promotional post. 20 minute qualy (or 15 if you read the SRs ) and 45 minute race, for one or two drivers, with mandatory 2-minute pitstop. Only 2 dates this year - be interesting to see if it takes off.....Its cheap at £320 including BRSCC membership and registration, but the launch seems a bit rushed - I've emailed them to point out two glaring errors in the SRs......

It is another addition to the somewhat ill-supported TCR UK/Dunlop Touring Car Trophy timetables......

I think they snuck the launch out whilst all the CSCC team are away at Spa

I actually quite like the classes being banded on a power/weight basis - be better for us that our 180 bhp 75 being in the same class as 944s and 911s with 100bhp more, but I doubt we'll defect from CSCC.
