2010 British Superbike

Surprised there wasn't a thread already.

Well looking back, Round 1 from Brands Hatch is done and dusted with Hill taking the Race 1 win followed by Kiyonari and Ellison. Ellison won Race 2 followed by Hill and Seeley. Seemed like both races were pretty good.

Returnee Hodgson was off the pace at Round 1 and injurred himself. He's sitting out Round 2. Kagayama is another returnee, but he hasn't seemed as quick as his teammate. Kiyonari is also back, but is more at home than the other two.

Round 2 is under way at Thruxton with points leader Hill quickest so far.

Josh Brookes got his 1st BSB race win - good to see him get a bike to the finish in both races . Tommy Hill won the other race!

Hodgson calls it quits on his racing career due to injuries. Kind of sad, but it's the right thing to do. I'll prefer to remember him this way...

Those two years in WSB he was absolutely cracking. Shame he's calling it quits but the Rob Mac bike didnt look like it was going to do him any favours. Begs the question what the Stalkers still doing hanging around riding below par bikes.

Well Stalker hasnt really half snapped his arm off that's why!

Neil's injury was very very serious!, very similar in a way to Foggy's that ended his career, absically Foggy was told if he injured the shoulder again he would lose any strength in his arm! And I imagine Hodge is teh same.

Better to happen now rather than mid career. Rememebr Hodge had 2 years in 125GP was British champion. A couple of very good years in 500, ending riding a Roberts YZR in WCM colours before gettign rather daftly blinded by money by Ducati in WSBK.

I think if Neil had stayed in 500's he would have possibly been like Mackenzie and ridden there for years.

He lost his way in WSB with Ducati and especially Kawasaki before Colin Wright and he came back amazingly well with GSE where he became world class again. I actually this his best year was the last on the GSE bike, podiums, wins and regularly beating Bostrom on the otehr Dunlop Ducati, he was superb that year.

In his title year he only had to beat Xaus who let's face it is not a finisher! Though he battered Neil in GP on the same bike, but then again when you are riding a bike that leaks oil, has second hand parts on it....

Was a good career - i remember his rides on the yzr 500's, he was very impressive for a young "rookie"... Those FILA ducati's where a good looking bike too!

Michael Laverty peerless in race 2, at one point it was Laverty, Rutter, John Laverty - shame it didnt end that way with Hill getting into 3rd, but Michael Laverty was superb, and great to see Rutter back up there.

due to the last race being red-flagged which track will now have a double header of 600 Super Stocks in the UK as that crash was too close to the curfew.

It was wasn't it? He's still got it.

The last races weren't overly exciting though or was it just me? The weather didn't help matters I guess. I wonder what will become of Kiyo's career if he has another so so year in BSB after two such years in the WSB.

Go back to Japan and earn a tidy living? Like Yui has done. Have the Japanese dropped 250s for Moto2 this year?

The abandoned BSB race will take place at the next Snetterton meeting on Saturday.

Really feel for all the people that were there spectating. It was bad enough sitting waiting on the races in the comfort of my armchair!

The extra BSB race will be held at Snetterton, not sure about the 125s/Superstock 600/Harleys. It was a disasterous day all round, although the Supersport race was a thriller. Really frustrating to be sitting in stifling heat and then see rain in Scotland.

Oh dear, this championship hasn't attracted much discussion on here this year has it? Last post was in early July. We all know the reasons given so no need to rake over old ground. I wanted to say I just saw the Cadwell races and they were quite enjoyable. Josh Brooks taking off over the mountain was simply breathtaking.
