See you there Mark, it will be the first use of the circuit for cars using the new race control. I understand that slabs at the hairpin have been replaced with concrete, gravel trap at back of post 11 has been made larger, and more armco at post 9. I think posts 12, 1, 2 and post 3/4 will all give slightly different accidents due to the moving of race control. Lets see what the Stock Hatches can do.

I'm hoping to be there too. Will Sheila M be there too, makes me worry about anyone who scratches her new pit lane armco more so if she takes her broomstick and it passes scrutineering

I will have to try and get there early as I already have 115 names on the list and I remember the queues last year.
Don't even know if sign on location has changed but am going up for 1 750MC test day late in Feb to Recci the changes.

In case you finish those essays, Martin and Nicola are on the Mallory list. Might get you there without a 4am start with me.

After the mayhem he caused at the Hairpin last year, maybe that's a good idea!

Yup, I'll be there! New armco? Have they given me new armco? If they damage it, it won't matter whether the broomstick has passed scrutineering or not

I'm going to be there too. Despite my son currently being in Leicester at University, this is my first time at Mallory for over 4 years. Hope Peter is going to let me flag for a change, otherwise I could be your observer!! Couple of other Brands guys (not, unfortunately 10 Tenthers) are coming along with me. See you all there. A good breakfast and mayhem guaranteed.

Seem to remember, peter, last time you were observing on post 6 or 7. Should have enough observers to let you flag somewhere else.

New Startline will be safer

I have just been speaking to one of the Stock Hatch drivers who was at Mallory on Saturday for a test session. I told him of my concerns about the new startline being closer to the first corner and he tells me that in his opinion he thinks it will be safer. The cars won't bunch up as quickly as they will have to hold their lines for a bit longer into Gerrards.

Apparently there is now a "hump" across the full width of the track just about level with the pit entry, where the telecomms cabling wasn't placed deep enough under the track. This "hump" is about 2 inches high and will be enough to unsettle a single seater. Apparently the Stock Hatch just "leaped" when it hit the "hump".

AND there are three grids of Stock Hatches which "gives us three goes to get it wrong"!

See you all there on the 14th.

Sheila

Sheila, the news about that hump really fills me with anticipation of an "exciting meeting" - as long as I am not flagging on Post 1 or 2!!
