Last year there were a couple labelled as a 'Viper 2' - not sure what that means, though. This will be another car I miss - no FIA GT weekend is complete without a Viper!

There are tow versions of the Viper Competition Coupe homologated. 2009 saw the debut of the second version. So it isn´t an old car and still be bought. But in the past there were not much customers in Europe....

It's a shame not to see the Morgans out there again. Though I'm perfectly happy with the new BMW's and hopefully some competitive Astons this time!

DSC article mentions Chad will only enter one car at Silverstone, not two. I'm keen to see a Silverstone entry list (as opposed to full-season), the GT3 website still only shows 2009 lists.

The Frenchie Graf Corvettes did well in French GT at Nogaro a few weeks ago (just saw the highlights on MotorsTV). If they have Olivier Panis in the car for FIA GT3 (if it's allowed), they could do pretty good.

The GT3 site is showing the full entry list for 2010 now.
No list up for Silverstone yet though

DSC has the Silverstone entry up, 'only' 33 cars. Hard to believe the single Chad 430 is the only Ferrari entered for the entire weekend!

Seems the GT3 grid has taken a bit of a nose dive in terms of variety this year, which is sad to say the least. I was very much looking forward to seeing the Morgan's again this year, very spectacular and they made a blood curdling noise at full chat. The Jaguar will be missed as well, so will the Viper's, despite myself not being a massive fan of the V10 engined beast.

Looking forward to seeing the new MarcVDS 'Stangs though and the Z4M Power Beemer's, likely we will have some great racing as usual in GT3.

It seems the GT3 concept has been a victim of its own success as well as with escalating costs. A number of national GT3 series have really taken off, especially the ADAC and FFSA grids. You can run the cars in the GT Open and in the VLN, and be an overall threat to the GT2s in Italy. Suddenly the European series isn't as much of a main draw as it used to be...

FFSA yes, but the ADAC has only 18 or 19 full-on GT3 cars, with a number of regular Porsche Carrera Cup cars and eventually perhaps Ferrari Challenge cars in a secondary "Trophy"-category. 19 cars is of course by no means bad, but it isn't what I would call really taking off either. Especially if grids shrink later in the season as they did last year with only 14 cars in the Sunday race at Sachsenring, for example.

An about half the teams from GT-Masters are actually involved in the Euro series as well - if perhaps not necessarily under the same name.

18 or 19 cars is now about 2/3 of what the Euro series is able to dredge up now! I agree that attrition will affect both championships; hopefully not too many teams are forced to make choices based on timing or budget if they are succeeding more in one championship than another.

The central point I was making, however, is that there are now a lot more places to run GT3 cars, and I think we have definitely seen an effect on the European series as a result of that and the rampant cost escalation that has required gentlemen to pour more and more money into new chassis or expensive upgrade kits every year.

Not sure if you have seen the releases, but I noticed the GT3 race from Silverstone was on this morning on Bloomberg. Yes the stocks and business channel but coverage in the US is better than nothing. I think Comcast has the channel on most of their systems on the digital channels. Unfortunately I didn't know about the coverage until a few minutes ago.

Looks like we will be getting some coverage of this series in the States along with many others on a new broadband SPEED channel.
