Racing will be back underway i guess within the next 30 minutes starting with Fia GT3, was delayed due to armco needing to be replaced. My thoughts and prayers are with Bartocci

One question to anyone who might be in the know about this... what chassis is the #7 Aston this weekend, seeing that chassis 109 was severely damaged at Spa? They couldn't have rebuilt it in a week... could they?

Solid enough race that.

The Maserati is in a league of its own. Did look like the Young Driver AMR could have made inroads, before Enge gave up and consoled himself with second.

Poor old Warren Hughes in the Sumo Power though. Came from the back of the grid to eighth/ninth, before crashing out on the final lap.

DSC reports:

Young Driver AMR meanwhile turned up in Brno with the #8 DBR9, destroyed at Spa, built up around a spare chassis

#8? RSC's archive says that chassis #8 is the car that won Le Mans in '08, #9 was totalled at Spa in '07.

I think they mean race number 8 not chassis.

A bit boring this race (much worse than Silverstone and Abu Dhabi ).

The GT3s were much better, thanks to the whether.

I hope he's not seriously injured and wish him well. The safety cell of the car has completely failed I've not seen a driver that exposed in a modern car. A very brave rescue attempt by one individual and a complete lack of suitable fire fighting equipment....

I don't think I've ever seen a sports car disintegrate like that. Must have been one hell of an impact - I would hazard a guess that the rotation as it hit multiplied the forces involved, which could explain the fuel fire. Something didn't dry-break as it should have.
Will we be seeing the FIA increase the safety regs (again) next year?
Amazing (but slightly reckless, or foolhardy) work by the AMR guy though. Incredible what adrenalin can do.

As 'omnilight.it' reports, driver has leg burns, arm and 3 ribs fracture. But it's OK after that crash.

I dread to think what the outcome would have been, if he didn't do what he did.

Indeed. Car #8 was replaced...and not with a chassis DBR9/8.

That Super Trofeo crash was massive-that AMR tech deserves a medal for what he did, thats incredible bravery shown by him. My thoughts are with Bartocci, hope he makes a full recovery.

Certainly isn't..Scary hit, about 150kph there easily. Thought the chassis would have held up a little better, whole front end was ripped off.

Exciting racing at the start of the GT1 race..Interesting to see if Maserati can continue their dominance. Seriously hope they don't win the title this year...

GT3 coming up.

That is one horrific crash. The car just completely blew apart with that hit. It smacked into exactly the wrong place of the wall (I'm pretty sure that place will be modified because of this) and that chassis looked very weak. Hope the driver recovers and that AMR guy, as already mentioned, deserves a huge pat on the back.
