JJ in a Cadillac

That would be Jimmy Johnson of Nascar(2006 Champion). Johnson to pilot the third Team Cadillac entry in the fourth round of the SWC GT series at Lowes Motor Speedway in May. http://www.trackbytes.com/news.php?id=2775

I wonder how they're going to run Lowe's, since it seem to imply it wont be the same layout as ALMS used how many years ago.

Maybe that will get some attention to other racing besides NASCAR, although Junior didn't really bring anything extra to the ALMS race he showed up to and burned up in. Although he did say he really liked the Vette and wanted to drive again.

Well he seems like an open-minded guy, who likes different kinds of motorsport, which is pretty cool for a NASCAR guy. He also did the Rolex24 with the Riley factory team and will do the Brumos250 (at the 2nd Nascar-Daytona-Weekend) with them.

As for the track: WSC can't run the infield-section ALMS did because they race at Nextel-Cup pole night and the infield is used then as a parking lot. Hence the oval with chicanes track lay out....

They layouts of all the tracks are on top of the site, it's the 4th from the left. Afaik another pylon-chicane on the backstretch is still discussed.

That is about the least inspiring track layout for "road racing" I've ever seen.

As I live in the Charlotte area and have been to the track many times there are a few things they can do on to make it more like a road racing track. They will probley still use the back straight chicane but they can also make another one on the front straight using the existing entrance to the infield section but then turning back onto the pit exit of the NASCAR pit road. If they do it this way the teams will still have a place to pit if something should happen.
