Is it all but confirmed that Hamilton is the 3rd Motorbase car?

Also be a shame if Cook and Goff aren't on the grid but guessing that is looking more and more likely?

I have been wondering why we havent had an announcement for Hamilton, its kind of a badly kept secret. I can only assume this is being held back either for a big announcement at the Brands test day, or in order to trump another announcement for a bit of publicity (i.e the day Plato tells us his plans)

Agree, both have done enough to prove they deserve a seat but there seems to be a large number of new well funded drivers this year compared to previous seasons and as always money talks over talent

Expected in a few weeks from what he said at ASI. He’s booked in for the Spanish testing trip, so I expect it to be before then.

I've heard that Plato's 2019 was sorted yesterday.

But I don't know what it is yet...

interesting, Tim Harvey seemed to imply it was sorted around Rockingham last year ..
I dont see him spending a year peddling MGs around, after 2 years of getting nowhere (cant even say nowhere fast) he wants/needs to be at the sharp end now rather than driving a midpack at best car then spending at least 1 year maybe 2 developing something new or BTCC will become like groundhog day for him, BTC maybe as Plato is one of the few who would cover the budget demands, but i still think thats with James Cole and Plato will be in the Vauxhall

Just one thing to remember is that will BTC want to ruin their relationship with Dynamics/Steve Neal by employing their biggest rival/enemy?

I’d be extremely surprised to see him in a Honda.

I'm not a fan of JP but it would be quite fitting for him to jump into a Honda seat so he and MN can have their swansong season(s) battling it out between them in fairly evenly matched cars. I'm sure Lord Gow could twist a few arms to help it happen. I'm sure it would make for interesting tv, seeing JP's reaction to MN winning the Double Diamond race last season was hilarious.

Plato has also changed his Twitter Header to a symbol saying "Breaking News" today, which would appear allude to what I've been told.

Still no idea what has actually happened though, although if he's going to be on the BTCC grid, I've said all along that Power Maxed is the only likely seat for him.

I know, just proves how pointless it was! Still makes me laugh years later that liking a friends post with JP tagged in it, got me put on the banned list. He must have had extremely thin skin that day.

He was clearly furious, The in car camera showed him almost breaking the window safety net tearing it away from its mounts and trying to throw it out of his way after the race had finished.

So, can any Honda experts tell whether this is an FK2 or an FK8?

Door handle is definitely FK2.

Edit — and the mirror is the wrong shape for the FK8 too.

ALL the Civics on the grid were built by Dynamics.

I'm not certain either way. The angle of that picture isn't giving enough of a reference for my eye to determine.

I will comment that:

A) the door card being in place seems odd for a racer (someone shoot me down) as the card is unnecessary weight to drag around.

B) if they are last years FK2's why would Bert have worded the tweet like he has?

C) why would you have new FK2's built - I don't believe last years cars to have been badly damaged?

Therefore they must be FK8's. Unless this is a Bert "Shake with Shaun" to get tongues wagging and confuse simple minds like mine!

Door card and handle is odd.

Normally they have a card with a strap to pull the door closed

That's very reminiscent of the one used in a Morris Minor 1000!

Next picture clearly shows FK2, so this seems to disprove the FK8 hopes..?
