VSCC Spring Start, 17th April, 2021

A bit surprised there is no thread on this. Did no-one (apart from me!) attend this in any capacity (no spectators, of course!)?

The weather was superb, loads of cars and our joint FISCAR Tom Cole Trophy Race with VSCC Hawthorn International Trophy Race was oversubscribed with a fabulous grid.

Will try to put a few photos up at some point but at the moment writing one of my unduly lengthy race reports for the FISCAR website!

I was there as a Judicial Clerk and thought the driving standards were very good, as usual.

Off to Curborough on Sunday for the first speed event of the season.

Nice pictures, John, first Spring Start I have missed in donkey's years, no means of getting there having sold car due to lack of use during lockdown, and fed up with seeing money rolling out of the bank, while the car stood idle.

Anyone got a nice, inexpensive, small car in the lower insurance bracket they do not want much money for?

Crikey, Bob, that's a real shame. I did wonder! Unfortunately my involvement with FISCAR meant that I wasn't able to get where I could take any meaningful on track shots so they are all taken around the paddock or pitlane. The first is for you, a pair of Morgan +4s (early and late 50s respectively), both in our race. I wonder if anyone can guess who that is climbing aboard the Jaguar C-type and without looking it up, what No 2 is?

I thought John Harper might have retired – good to see him still going strong.

Yes, indeed. On this occasion, the owner, Peter Campbell shared his drive with Andrew Mitchell

John like the rest of us is getting older. He still loves to drive and was sharing the driving with David Brazell

Apologies, top middle photo already in previous post but at the moment edit facility seems to be hors de combat.

Great sets of photos John. Always a good event to attend.

Whet's the appetite to get to some events this year (at long last).
