GBaxter should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
If you owned your own F1 racing team, what name/s would you call it?

If as a driver, owner, or driver - owner, you had your own Formula 1 racing team, what are the coolest or most favorite name/s you'd most want to give your racing team (excluding your own first or last names) ?

I'd call it after my surname.

All the best teams carry their founder's name:

McLaren
Ferrari
Williams
Sauber
Jordan
Minardi

Offset Company Tax Burden Scheme Racing - its not the catchiest but accurate and probably the only way I would ever have a team.

pirenzo of course (with the lowercase 'p' as well )
That's why invented the name in the first place (except it was a sportscar team...)

Eh? What about Lotus? They didn't carry their founder's name, but once upon a time they weren't too shabby!

You could add Renault to that list, as Marcel Renault (IIRC) founded the company in the early 20th century. He was a very keen motor racer, too.

It would seem that the most popular way to own a team is to purchase it as a going concern.... unless you are a major auto maker, which I am not.

So the main options seem to be:

1. Keep the existing name... the best idea if the team has a proud history. So McLaren is still McLaren and thankfully not "Team Dennis".
2. Take the name from the major sponsor... you didn't think I was funding an F1 team out of my own pocket did you?
3. Use my own name.... Eddie Irvine might be able to get away with this if he heads a group to purchase Jordan (one rumour that was doing the rounds), but for most of us, probably not.

So probably 1) keep the original name unless the sponsor in option 2) was offering me lots or money.

Well if he did buy the team, he'd be wise to bring back Eddie Jordan...

Cause then they could call it "The Two Eddie's Racing".

E1: "And it's goodnight from me..."
E2: "And it's goodnight from him!"
