How to Post the Photos
Quote:
We must be all suffering from the same age and computer no knowledge Have plenty of photos & slides from those days myself but notice your ask about how to post them and no answers forthcoming Maybe that is because the ones that read the good old days are also illiterate on computer and all the computer age gurus do not bother with this thread because it does not relate to their life time, they have been born since the good old days of passing, no grip and tyres going off etc |

well its a bit late and im a bit under the weather but here goes................
First of all you need some where to store your photo's on the web, if your on Optus (for example) they provide you with your own WEBSPACE to store your photo's (check with your ISP) or as an alternative browse over to here http://tentenths.com/forum/forumdisp...?s=&forumid=47 the photogs forum and ask where the best place for online storage is which allows linking to other sites. If you choose to use your OWN webspace then you will need a FTP program to transfer your photo's (filezilla is easy to use and free) or if you go the other route most dedicated photo site's have their own uploading program which you will need to download first. After youve got your photos stored on the web and you want to insert a picture in your post, dont use the quick reply option (located bottom of thread) use the post reply button (located top of thread) then when you get to the part of your post where you want to display the image use the button marked IMG then copy the Address where your photo's are stored. (How do you know what address to use , well you open the image and copy whats in the address bar) After copying the address click the IMG button again and viola, TA DA, youve just inserted a picture into your post. Hope that make some sense. ps Watch your size this forum has a limit on the max size of that the images can be...................... Moderator what is the max res and file size ? pps pm me if you have any problems I would be willing to help you through it........................... seems harder than it really is after the first couple it becomes easy. ppps (can you do that) yep thats as clear as mud Last edited by mixxer; 21 Aug 2004 at 17:00. |

However, images should be less than 400 X 400 pixels. You adjust this be viewing the image in PhotoEditor software, just look for image size options and reduce either percentage or pixels until the biggest dimension (usually the width) is below 400 pixels. |

Do any of you guys know what happened to the original 'Beast' the XU1 with the F5000 engine the HDT built. Also it's a bit later on but what happened to Keith Carling's 300ZX with the twin turbo Skyline motor. When it ran that thing was amazing.

Trev, I think Keith Carling's 300ZX was being pedaaled by Derek Bailey at Eastern Creek.
I find it fascinating that a Keery Baily runs a 300ZX Sports Sedan and another Kerry BAILEY runs another one!! |

Trev,
The original HDT Beast was purchased by Peter Janson as a roller (on advice from John Sheppard) as a suitable vehicle to contest the Marlboro $100,000 series as the Captain had secured sponsorship from yet another Holden Dealer and Taylors College back in 1974! The 'Beast' was one of the original LC Rally cars and if I could be bothered in finding the paperwork, I think it was Bondy's 1972 "Dulux" Rally car. When a 'Taylors' owned ship load of 'sago' (yes - sago) sprung a leak and sunk in Singapore Harbour, the salvage bill was so high it bankrupted Taylors and the good captian got zip from the sponsorship! My info was The Beast was ratted and sent to the tip (I think thats where Sheppo got it from anyway). Janson never put his bum in it! The other Janson Rally/Rallycross/Sports Sedan Torana (Saggy Sarah) was sold to Bruce Watt and then Nick Burges but should not be confused with the original Beast. The 'Beast' was a term I understand was coined by the HDT crew and observers of the construction of the car. Names like that are usually given to vehicles constructed with a gas axe, stick welder, available RSJ and 'marketing said we need a Sports Sedan' approach. If you ever saw it (or photo's) in action, it was this car that set Brock apart from everyone else (all the other results were window dressing)! By the first meeting everyone was calling it the 'Beast' |

Slide copiers are available for digital camera's so I guess it would be possible, just a matter of adapting it to the new lens diameter.

Robert Ryan, check out this website. This is where many ex TraNZam cars have ended up, given you have an interest in these cars. A fantastic series, with several different classes competing, and some interesting old cars racing too. Evan Munt races the V8 Capri of his late father Ian. Australians will recall this as being the famous Bruce Cary car.

Thanks Camaroz, Yeah every photo I've seen of the car with Brockie at the wheel, theres always a wheel or 2 off the ground, it look like it was a bit of a handful to drive. IIRC Brockie was the only driver who could get a time out of the car.
