You are right on all counts. There are some pictures and receipts from the RB museum which show what a good investment these things have been (past tense!) The car actually ran with an M12 and a BDX (experimental engine which later became the BDG - but then you probably know that!))in period but the M12 will be sold and a BDG put in. I am impressed by the scope of the knowledge in these forums and very pleased to see so many people interested in sharing information. Thanks for your input I have enjoyed reading all the entries. |

BDX is not a Cosworth derived motor it was Swindons own developement engine from on the BDG theme
hu87 i do not believe was M12 car n period The m12 was fitted cos the seller had motor available to him and thought most folk would want Lola with a Bimmer not a bdg as most t294/6 cars ran with Bimmers in the 70`s |

I knew I was pushing my luck by trying to get technical! I am getting Connaught to build the engine so I am confident they know what they are doing!
I have another pic of the car in period, in colour if anyone is interested |

Are you sure most Lola T290 series had bimmers in the 70s, DW? I thought most had FVCs/then BDA series, plus the odd Hart. Bimmers were quite rare in 2-litre G6 weren't they?

the T290 cars in 72 had fvc chevy vega abarth and late season a BDA/BDG in the barcleys hu22 car
in japan 2 cars had mitsubishi motor the rest where ford fvc or vega 73 T292 cars where Ford BDG/FVC and a schnitzer bmw as M12 was exclusive to March for 73 for F2 and Gp 6 cars Japan had the Ford based motors 74 T294 the BMW M12 was now available to anyone with a cheque book so you will see some cars with BMW some Ford BDG ROC fitted the Chrysler Simca motor to their cars 75 the T296 car had bdg and bmw in the chassis depending on the entrant most t297/8 cars where BMW powered |

I wouldn't want to play you at poker! Yes just enough room for one more, actually if I buy another one I will have plenty of room as the wife will have left by then (I believe there may be a financial penalty though!). Yes Mike is going to sort it (with a Connaught engine). He is very good and patient with a slowcoach like me who doesn't know one end of a BA Whitworth screw driver from his arse. |
