Ulster Speed Week-end

The UAC Speed week-end is once again upon us. The entry is not that fantastic with just 15 Registered Contenders entered for the two British Sprint rounds at Kirkistown and 14 Registered Contenders entered for the British Hillclimb rounds at Craigantlet.

In the sprints we have David Gray (TVR), Frazer Graham (Van Diemen), Dan Pickett (Jedi), Tony Eyles (Force), George Harris (Dallara), Mike Musson (Force), Paul Bond (Crossle), Roy Dawson (Gould), Stewart Robb (Pilbeam), Brian Woffenden & Peter Howgate (Ralt), and Steve Miles & Stuart Webster (Van Diemen) plus John Leinster (Pilbeam) & Pat Roche (OMS) from 'over the water'.

On the Hill we have Mike Dean, Chris Merrick, Alastair Crawford, Roy Dawson, Roger & Scott Moran and Martin Groves & Paul Ranson (all in Goulds), Tom New (Pilbeam), Tim & Will Mason (Reynard) and Tony Eyles (Force) plus John Leinster (Pilbeam) and Michael Beattie (Lancia) as the Ulster representatives.

There are a few cross overs with Tim & Will Mason tackling the Friday Sprint and Pat Roche, Stewart Robb and Paul Bond having a crack at Craigantlet.

All in all a facinating week-end in prospect.

Yes, Roy D is doing the hill - check my earlier post CAREFULLY! So watch out for TWO Orange Goulds!

Maybe Mike would fancy a blast round Kirkistown on his way to Craigantlet to even things up?

So Moose, fancy a go? It would give us some direct comparison...

Did Duncell print you those images out yet? If not I'll run them off & bring them over on Saturday.

I should be in Saturday 0800 then back out Sunday morning early but in case BA & FlyBE let me down, have a good weekend all.

Ulster Update

It was wet on Friday and again on Sunday whilst it was mostly dry on Sunday.

Two wins for John Leinster at Kirkistown coupled with two sevenths at Craigantlet and all with the same ratios in the box! NB he normally takes Debtors Corner at Kirkistown at 152!

A win a piece for Scott and Martin at Craigantlet. Whilst their co-drivers ably backed them up.

Ranoff finally added Craigantlet to the list of hillclimb venues - liked the hat!

Disn't make the Bushmills Distillery trip this year for some unfathomable reason!

Lots of carnage at the Craigantlet Chicane just before the bumpy Mays Crossing saw numerous cars end their week-end. However Pat Roche drove the 5 hours back to Wexford to replace a front corner on the OMS then drove back North for the second Kirkistown sprint on Sunday. His reward - second place in the run-off!
