[DTM] DTM is dead, long lives ITC!

According to the Speedweek Twitter, they are going to publish an exclusive story in their next issue, regarding "huge news" for the DTM. While Speedweek didn't give anything away, several other Twitter sources did. A source close to Daytona International Speedway announced an "International Touring Car Race" as a support of the 2013 Daytona 24 Hours. Another source close to GTA, organizers of SuperGT, announced an "exciting support race for next years Pokka 1000", at Suzuka. And furthermore, the V8 Supercars series claimed to have "finished negotiations with a well-known international touring car championship regarding support races at 3-4 of our race in 2013." Apparantly the ITR wants to take international expansion into their own hands, after negotiations with Grand-AM and SuperGT regarding the unification of regulations have failed. But since a worldwide championship can't be run with references to Germany in the title, the ITR thinks about resurrecting the ITC name. An official announcement is expected to be made at the official tests at Hockenheim this week.

Wow, I never thought that the ITR repeats the same mistakes again. At least the series name now reflects the international nature of the series. On the other hand, the FIA won't like a "rogue" competition series...
