Tarquini is fastest today in testing. 2nd was Menu with Huff 3rd
there were a few bad things going on. someone lose thier time for cutting a chicane and a few warnings of track limits breached

Hmm. Somebody said that BTCC at Donington was too "amateur". WTCC guys are gentlman-drivers then. In BTCC drivers overtake at last, and here they just crash their funny cars.

Hi,

Can anyone explain to me why Huff, was starting in front of menu and Muller for race 2?

Isn't it the reverse order of qualifying for race 1?

Tarquini doesnt deserve any points from that race he should know better, putting Huff on the grass like that Huff should have taken him into the wall

I thought this, but according to autosport the race 2 grid is Q1 times with the top 10 reversed. Probably to stop people slowing in q2.

I think that class as racing and Huff was jumping the chicane after that tangle but unlike the F1 he knew to give the place back. talking of crashes why is there no news about the race two lap 1 shunt when the car was fired in the wall and loss a wheel. I think on the race 2 grid i think it was because of the 1st race mess that meant a few changes to the race 2 grid

So if Huff had done that in return, then he would have deserved points?

I think they just focused more on the oncoming chickane then on themselves...and so BANG and Huff had nowhere else to go so he cut.
However both were so lucky they didnt end up with damage...it looked like hard hit indeed.

I didn't see anything wrong with the way Tarquini defended. They accidently happend to touch on the front wheels and huff paied the price, but honestly Huff should just have settled for second place in my book. It's mistakes like this that costs championships. His nearest rivals (Muller and Menu) were behind him, so why risk it all.
But some drivers never really learn to play the points game. We see it with Hamilton in F1 aswell. He keeps making rookie mistakes and at the end of the year it's easy to pintpoint where the championship is lost.

i dont understand why tarquini doesnt deserve to take points in race 2!!! tarquini is one of the stronger driver in the wtcc (if only there would be other driver like him....) and huff what did he expect? he thought that tarquini told him "please overtake me"!

huff has showed one more time to dont be ready to win the championship! Y.MULLER or PRIAULX would have never attacked TARQUINI but they would have thought to the championship and they would have got 18 points with second place!! huff instead has tried to attack tarquini and the result was that he finished sixth!

about the champship it seems that the leon with 1.6 turbo should be ready for monza atleast on the car of tarquini and monteiro. let's hope.....

First race was another Chevrolet snoozefest, but I really enjoyed the second race. Good thing we have Tarquini in the championship this year, might stop it from completely becoming a Chevrolet love parade.

And for the record, I don't dislike Chevrolet as a brand - I do dislike brand politics in motorsports, however, as it often lowers the quality of the racing when team mates - and even brand mates - aren't allowed to really race each other (NASCAR thankfully being an exception). Whining over

i dnt agree with u!! in curitiba muller made a riskious overtaking on bob huff! there have been also a contact! in zolder huff was too strong to beat and menu and muller hasnt take useless risks! this is the main difference between a spectacular driver and a mature driver. the spectacular driver can excite the people but at the end the mature driver will win the championship!

The Huff-Tarquini thing was a racing incident. I think Rob's right tyres were dirty because of the ride on the grass, which led him to slightly pointing left under braking, they were so close and they touched.
I have to disagree with iceman, though. Andy Priaulx would have tried to pass, he knows that 7 points are too important when you get to Macau to miss an opportunity in what is only the 2nd meeting of the season. And so would have Yvan.
Things can go wrong in racing, but that doesn't mean Huffy can't win the championship! He did the right thing and was unlucky. Had it been a Chevy in front of him, then it'd have been a big mess, but Tarquini is a championship contender and he had to try and pass him.

Muller may have been under instructions not make a silly do-or-die move but do you think he wasn't trying to race Menu?

There are not so many very good drivers in the field, when the crash took out some of the favourites in race 1 it became a boring race.

When Volvo and SEAT get their new engines, and when Micheliz and Coronel have sorted out their BMW's, WTCC will be a bit more entertaining. Still a long way to go to be a world championship worth its name, but it would be steps in the right direction. Now we just need a couple of announcements of new manufacturers, especially from Asia and the JTCC series planned to start in 2012 (if that series still is on).

A US race in 2012 should encourage at least one team to build a Global Focus with the Fiesta WRC engine. The parts are there waiting to be assembled .
