Silverstone Stowe Circuit
This is connected with the thread about the meet on the 15/16 March. Which can be found here
My question, because I have never raced there is, what's it like? It is quite small (not that that matters! - quicker to learn?). What have you raced there? Any good stories? Thanks |

Anti-clockwise, tricky S section, tight corner after the start,a couple of quick straights, obviously flat (its Silverstone after all ). Cheap entry fees are a plus point and the opportunity to race more than once.

I spectated there before. By far the best Silverstone circuit for the spectator, and I should imagine it would be pretty good to drive too. Very short circuit, so good for mult-class races with lots of lapping to be done. Its mostly used for the racing school and seems to have a real variety of corners! Its very tight, so I'm not sure the maximum number of cars that can run on it though!

Think that the maximum number of starters is 18, he said recalling a 750MC meeting there in '97. Short lap but average speed is very low. When I was ther five and a half years ago there was nothing in the way of shelter, there was a very 'temporary' feeling about the place.

did my ards on it. being so short it is easy to learn.
Apparently F1 teams have tested on it and they go around in about 30s, I think I was going round in about 60s in the school proton. No spectator area as such, just a porta cabin for officials, no pits. I don't think its really a race track as much as a test track. |
