Opel Astra V8
I was watching coverage of the DTM from Lausitz this morning on Motors TV, and noticed that the Astras spit a lot of flame from the exhausts, while the Mercs and Audis don't seem to. Is there any particular reason for this?

yes, they use the unburned fuel for cooling, amg are doing the same now
the catalystic converters are in the side on the car and their heat is affecting the drivers and the fuel should lower that effect Last edited by flor; 9 Jul 2003 at 16:54. |

How does having letting gas escape the exhaust cool? Just that it's a liquid??

I have spoken to someone who makes exhaust systems for a living who says he has always wanted to prototype a liquid cooled exhaust system, to reduce the head transferred into the cabin.....

I brought this question up a while back, but does anyone know what's the width of the exhaust pipes for ST, DTM, JGTC, BTC, S2000 cars??
