Robbe should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
A few new cars:
Crash.net mentioned Maurizio Ceresoli will join the series in a Metelli backed León.
Massimiliano Pedalá will drive Seat Sport Italia's second León.
Oscar Nogues will drive a Seat as a prize for his Supercopa win.
The german Eurosport commentary mentioned Maria de Villota will race in her Chevrolet Lacetti from team Maurer (and they'll do PROCAR series).

Also, in german newspaper MsA there was a big story about a new Lexus diesel project from Tim Blake / Team LGT. Ex-formula one mechanics James East and George Ryton are involved. They'll announce it soon, their first race meeting will be in Oschersleben. Driver will be Kurt Luby, for the second car they try to get Rickard Rydell. No works support from Toyota Europe though.
Hmm, I think we have to be careful with this... Looks a bit like another Skoda/Brilliance/Lada to me.
There are also rumours about an Opel works entry from 2008.

Wasn't Kurt Luby involved in the Total Motorsport "neverending story" Lexus BTCC project? I hope this is not the same project...

He did drive a Lexus for AGB Motorsport for the first half or so of the 2001 season; then the team ownership changed to TMSR and Erdos replaced Luby. Not quite sure exactly what happened with the team that made Luby quit.

As I remember, Tim Blake was the owner of TMSR...

I think the original plan had been a 2-car team, Luby and Erdos. Luby started the season, and was replaced mid-season by Erdos- from what I've read on several forums the second car never got beyond a bare shell

Hum, I wonder if Rydell would want to touch that (Independent) Lexus. Remember that Rickard is first and foremost a professional driver, and will probably race for those who pay him to do so. For an independent team and completly new racecar - because it can't surely be based on the 2001 BTCC car! - I find this very hard to believe.

I think Nogues will run another european race to avoid a another crazy weekend as last year (3 supercup races, 2 wtcc races and qual. for both).

That's not really a great loss. He was by far the slowest Russian Bear in Zandvoort. The other 2 guys were also in the back of the field, but they managed to keep the drivers in front of them in sight.
Although it must be said that Zandvoort the only track of the WTCC where the Bears had been before the WTCC-races, so let's see how they are going to perform in Spain...

Would make sense as Opel aren't doing anything else (apart from BTCC under the Vauxhall brand), and they'll be launching the new Vectra sometime in 2008.

The BMWs should be favourites, but Seat have a good chassis and are on home ground. It'll be interesting to see if Chevrolet can carry over their good form from Holland.

Another interesting question: Where was Sergio Hernandez? He wasn't on the grid at Zandvoort. So I don't think it is clear that he will start in Valencia

Thompson on pole. Thats a surprise for me.

Top 19 in 1 second.

Only 2 Bimmers in top 12. No longer a German domination.

What's wrong with Coronel? At Zandvoort he could blame the Dutch PM but this time?

Robbe should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Very very very close

Thommo and Jourdain are positive surprises.
But what's up with Zanardi?
