Aintree - 1st September

I've got a free weekend in a couple of weeks time, so I thought why not visit a venue I've never been to before?
So Aintree it is.
I'm doing business in Blackpool the day before, so wont have far to travel, is there anything I should know?

Yes! if it's anything like the bikes we were told not to walk on the grass between the fences.

Slight correction to KayBee's post, Marshals are not alllowed to park their cars on the Hallowed Grand National Turf, but we are allowed to park up on the Golf Course opposite, in fact on a Sprint Event 3 of the Marshal's Post's are actualy sited on the National Course 1. Valentines Straight 2. Beechers Corner and 3. The Finnish Line, and on a Track Day as above plus one additional Post just before Club Corner at the end of the Railway Straight.

check the bottles again after lunch.

Perimetre fences are low, and theres a few footpaths around the venue so lots of walkers who might take an interest in proceeding.

if one of the sprint spec Goulds are there - they certainly shift!

(i remember being on Beeches out for this run)

and try to not react to seeing a red flag fluttering on the golf course (yes, the holes are marked by little red flags)

Good to see you yesterday, glad you enjoyed it.
It was a great day all round, 2 practice and 5 timed runs and finished by 4:30.

Thanks to all the Aintree marshals yesterday, all the incidents we had were handled well.

See you next time you're in the area

Dave.

Sorry for my late note of many thanks for your attendance at Aintree on Saturday, I got tied up yesterday doing the Sporting Bears Event and to-day checking the car over for it's M O T.

Pete.

Glad you had a good day with us at Aintree, we had quite a turnout of marshals , quite a few more than I'm used to seeing, and the weather was great.
Like Pete, I was there on the Sunday as well to help with the Sporting Bears event, which was another great day.
